the couple waiting impatiently for the results .
y/n fiddled with her fingers , stressed out about the whole situation . she looked more affected than mikey did since it was partly her fault that emma was in this position when it should have been her . mikey wish he could do something to comfort y/n but he himself was feel worried about his sister's condition . it wasn't looking too good . they sat at the chairs just outside of her operation room . they have waited for hours without food or drink . non of them had the appetite . they also have not spoken since . after hours which felt like days , the doctor came out removing his surgical mask . " who is the family member of emma sano ? " mikey stood up immediately , signaling it was him .
y/n grew even more nervous to hear the results . " mr sano , i'm sorry we have tried our best " both their eyes widened at the news . " what do you mean... " mikey had a desperate tone . " we couldn't save her ... " the doctor had a disappointed point as he broke out the news . y/n face turned white . she was scared . what if mikey hated her afterwards . y/n couldn't help but to continuously blame herself for everything that has happened . without much thinking , she ran off , away from the whole scene . " y/n- " mikey called out in surprise by y/n suddenly leaving . mikey didn't necessarily went after her . at this point as much as y/n was important to him , emma's situation was more critical . y/n would understand if mikey didn't went after her at this time .
to be honest , mikey didn't blame emma's death on y/n one bit . if it wasn't emma , it would have been y/n who was going to be in this position . he wouldn't have preferred it either way . there was no way y/n could face mikey at the moment . she ran and ran . with no idea where she was headed to . " its all my fault . " it was the only thought circulating in her head . it really did mess her up . she felt that she wasn't worth living . she was the one that was suppose to be dead , not emma . she put all the hatred on herself . she ran back to her own apartment , isolating herself in her room . she rejected any human interaction for the time being . mikey had sent multiple messages which she refused to reply . the devil was all in her head .

' shit where are you y/n ' mikey was finally looking for her . after hours of no updates or reply from y/n he begin to grow worried . knowing how y/n would always blame herself for every little thing , he knew this would take a huge toll on her . he wanted to be there for her throughout everything that she was going through . he had almost lost her once , he couldn't afford to do so again . he didn't want to lose anymore of his loved ones . although emma's death did affect mikey , he had to hold his head high . there was no other way to reverse it . the only thing he could do for her was to avenge her . y/n was never the cause of emma's death . kisaki was .
mikey ended up at y/n old apartment after hours of search . he was tired . but not tired enough to stop looking for her . he honestly didn't have much faith , hence he placed three gentle knocks on the wooden door . if y/n wasn't there , he couldn't help but think that she might have done something silly to herself . and when that happens , he wouldn't know how to react . loosing two of the most important people in his life in a night . " y/n please tell me you're in there . " her eyes teared at the male on the other side . she couldn't face him without feeling guilty . she was on her verge of passing out . she hasn't ate anything or drank a sip of water . her lips were pale and dry . she had bags under eyes and her hair was all messed up .

" she begged that mikey would leave soon as she wasn't planning on opening the door . mikey seemed to know that she was in there , probably from the light in her room which was switch on . " i'll sit here until you open the door if i have to . " y/n squint her eyes as more tears flowed out of it . mikey would never change . he was always this stubborn . " please just leave already ... " y/n sobbed . it was more like a whisper to herself instead of for him . her throat was dry causing her voice to be raspy . she really hoped that mikey wasn't going to stay at her door . she wouldn't want him to . the night went by as mikey patiently sat at the door , leaning onto the wooden material as y/n sat on the cold floor , hugging her knees .
she wasn't able to sleep the whole night . every time she closed her eyes , she could picture how miserable emma's death was . she would jolt herself out of sleep and cry for another half an hour only for the same thing to happen . she was about to pass out due to how weak her body was but in her mind was just mikey . she could only wonder if he was still at her door or has he already left . afterall she cared about mikey the most . despite her fragile and weak body , she lifted herself up and walked over to the door , opening it slightly . to her surprise , he was still there already awake since it was around 10 am in the morning . " y/n... " he stood up almost immediately when she had finally opened the door .
mikey could barely recognise her . she looked wrecked and sick . " idiot ... you are an idiot manjiro ... " her voice came out as a whisper as she was clearly sick . " says you . " mikey looked at the poor girl who hasn't been taking care of her own health . although it has only been a day , he could realise the drastic change in y/n . she looked pale and weak . she was also still dressed in the same outfit when they had went out to fight kisaki . suddenly y/n felt her vision went blurry . as if everything that surrounded her was moving . " y/n ? " mikey saw the change in her expressionless face but her name only sounded like a muffle . soon , she collapsed onto mikey's arms . mikey didn't take it quite a surprise due to how she looked . " you're the idiot here ... " he looked at her with such love in his eyes .
