Chapter 40

After ko makalabas ng hospital after duty ay nagtakeout lang ako ng breakfast ko. I booked a flight to Cebu dahil may one day conference dun. Pero I plan to stay for a week.

To:Pau
Be there by 1 pm.

From:Pau
Sure. I'll pick you up.

Naggrab na lang ako papunta sa airport. One week lang ako dun pero parang pang isang buwan yung luggage ko. When my flight landed, agad ko lang hinanap si Pau. He hugged me quickly upon seeing me.

"Miss you, bud." I said while we are still hugging.

"Fill me in anong nangyayari sa inyo dun." He said.

We went to his condo. Tapos nagpadeliver lang kami ng lunch.

"Why are you not in Marco and Yna's wedding?" I asked when we are eating.

"I'm supposed to, kaso may emergency OR tapos biglang understaff. I just sent them a gift instead." He answered then poured me a drink.

"Really? I thought si Gab pa rin reason mo." I said laughing.

"Tss. No. I thought hindi ka aattend nung assembly?" He asked.

"Pinayagan naman. Wala kang duty?" I asked.

"When you texted na pupunta ka dito, nagpaleave ako. Nakakahiya naman sa bestfriend ko kung maglilibot sya mag-isa." He said smiling.

"Aww. You the best talaga. Still no girlfriend?" Tanong ko.

"Wala. But I met someone. Pero I didn't get other infos except her name." He replied.

"Really?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah." Sagot nya lang.

"So, himala. So over na talaga kay Belinda. So what's the name malay mo kilala ko." I said excitedly.

"Mary Katherine Cerise Ongpauco. I searched her name mas bata sya ng one year sa atin. And she's a doctor too. Apparently when I met her kakapasa nya ng boards. Top 6 sya ng batch nila." Sagot nya sa akin.

"You really like her, huh? Wait so, 1st year resident na sya or baka nagmoonlighting.  Why not hire a private investigator?" I asked.

"I already did. Nasa New York sya." Sagot nya lang.

"So ayaw mo sundan?" I asked curiously.

"She was broken-hearted when I met her. So I'll give her time for now." Sagot nya sa akin.

"So why are you really here? I'm pretty sure hindi yung assembly pinunta mo dito." He questioned me.

"Miggy. He's like back in my life." I said almost a whisper.

"I already know that." Sagot nya lang. Sino nanaman kaya yung nagsabi. May  gc na ata sila na lovelife ni Trish ang name.

"I'm like confused. Yes, I love him. Pero natatakot na akong maulit yung nangyari dati. Ayoko ng umiyak ulit." Sagot ko.

"What's confusing you? Or dahil meron din yung Igi. Marco told me sa hospital nila Gab na sya nagreresidency." Tanong nya.

"No, he's not. I like him as a friend. Pero you know how crazy in love I am to Miggy, 12 years old lang tayo nun." Walang emosyong sabi ko.

"E ano? What's stopping you to be happy? Kasi nasaktan ka nya?" He asked weirdly.

"I don't know really. What if may pangarap nanaman na nakasalalay." I blurted.
