After many tries, Loki and I managed to persuade Mobius to take us to an apocalypse.
We stood in the middle of a street and saw Mount Versuvius on the verge of erupting. "Here we go." Mobius announced. "Pompeii." I said in awe. "Any minute now." Loki said. Mobius looked at us with a raised brow. "Until this town is wiped off the face of the planet. Imagine. All that volcanic ash." Loki exclaimed in disbelief. "I know, we don't want to get too giddy." Mobius said sensibly. "Oh come on! It's cool." Loki cried. "No, it's cool, but it's just not in good taste because..." Mobius started, but I cut him off. "They're all gonna die anyway." I said, drinking a coffee. "Really Freyja? Are you seriously drinking an iced coffee right now?!" Mobius asked with a shake of the head. "What! It's warm." I defended. "I know. Now listen, I'm gonna watch the tempad for any variance activity." Mobius explained. "Okay." Loki and I said in unison. "Okay, because we gotta be careful. If you're wrong, and there's a good chance you are. Anything we do can create a huge branch." Mobius warned. "Oh, Mobius! You make even the end of the world sound boring!" Loki playfully scolded. "Listen. We're not supposed to be here. Anything we do can impact the course of history. Do either of you get that?" He asked. "Yes, yes." We answered. "So we're gonna start with very small disturbances. Very small. Can you make bird noises?" He asked. "Bird noises?" I asked in confusion. "Yeah bird noises. Like some, like whoosing noises." Mobius then proceeded to mimick a crow dying. Loki and I scoffed and looked at each other.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

I don't know. What are you thinking that I should be thinking?

If I go for the goats, you just be yourself.

Got it. Excellent thinking.

We looked at Mobius for a split second before running off to the cart. Loki jumped on to of the cart and released the goats. "Go, be free my horned friends. Be free!" He yelled, before hollering. "My name is Freyja and this is Loki and we're from the future!!! Flying cars are real! Great robot dinosaurs roam the cities!" I cried. The volcano rumbled and people started screaming. "Right on cue!" Loki grinned. "Enjoy your last meal while you can! Nothing else matters! Nothing has any consequence. Whoo hoooo!" I yelled. Little did I know, Loki was staring at me with adoration whilst I wasn't looking. "Come on Loki!" I called as we ran over to Mobius. "How'd we do?" Loki asked. "I don't believe it. Zero variance energy. No branching in the timeline." Mobius said in disbelief. "The TVA would never even know we were here. If it were me, this is where I would hide." Loki finished.

Back at the TVA, Mobius was piecing it all together and finding more information. "Doomsdays. The Variant's been ambushing our soldiers and hiding out in doomsdays to cover his tracks." He told Loki and I. "Your welcome." We said. "For this theory to hold, the disasters have to be natuarally occuring, sudden, no warning, no survivors." Mobius explained further. "How many could there be?" Loki asked. "I don't know. We're gonna find out." Mobius said excitedly.
Hours later, Mobius and I were still looking through the Apocalypse files whilst Loki napped. "I'm suprised you're not taking a nap." Mobius said to me, looking up slightly from his file. "Because I drink lots of coffee." I answered, drinking a bit. "But because your Asgardian, would it not take alot more coffee to keep you awake?" Mobius asked. "Because I conjur up my coffees, I make them with however many shots I like, because there isn't a limit like you mortals." I explained. "So how many is in that one now?" He asked. I shot him a grin. "Wouldn't you like to know." I said. "Guess." I told Mobius. "Let's just say, three of these would kill a mortal." I said, and his eyes widened. "Jesus Freyja! Okay, I'm gonna guess 10." Mobius replied. "Higher."
"12?"
"Higher."
"20?"
"Higher." I said simply and Mobius' jaw almost fell off. "Go on, tell me. How many shots have you got in there?" He asked. "Are you sure you want to know? You may have a heart attack, it's a high number." I prewarned him. "Tell me." Mobius finalised. "In my coffees everyday, I have 45 expresso shots and that barely keeps me awake. Which is why I drink so many." I told him. "You're kidding?! You drink like 8 of those a day!" Mobius cried, waking Loki up. "Are you okay? How are you not dead yet?" Mobius asked. "Asgardian baby." I said with a wink. "I don't even want to know." Loki muttered, still dazed from his nap. "Come on, let's go for a walk." Mobius said, encouraging Loki to get up. "Here. You'll need this." I told Loki, handing him a coffee.

Mobius, Loki and I sat around a table in the lunch hall. "By the way, at your desk, that magazine.?" Loki started. "Yeah, the one on jetskis?" Mobius asked. "Why do you have it?" Loki asked. "Because they're awesome." Loki chuckled. "I suppose they are." He smiled. "You know, somethings...Actually, most things in history are kinda dumb, and everything gets ruined eventually. But in the early 1990s, for a brief, shining moment. There was a beautiful union of form and function, which we call the jet ski, and a reasonable man cannot differ." Mobius informed us happily. "You ever been on one?" I asked him. "No..no. I think a TVA agent showing up on a jet ski on the sacred timeline, that would create a branch for sure." Mobius chuckled lightly. "It'd be fun though." Loki said. There was a silence for a while. "Excuse me gentlemen, I need to use the bathroom." I told them.

I walked back to our seats in the lunch hall and Mobius and Loki weren't there. I went back to the desk where we were before, but again they weren't there.

Loki? Where have you guys just swanned off to?

Sorry, we're in the library type thing with all the files. We're looking for the variant.

Okay, I'll be there in a few. Ahh, I've missed us talking together through telepathy.

Me too, see you soon.

Loki's POV

I smiled slightly at Freyja's comment, but I didn't hide it well enough. "What are you smirking at?" Mobius asked. "Nothing. Why would you think I was smirking?" I asked quickly. "Yeah you were, no one said anything. Unless..." He started. "Unless what?" I snapped. "You like her." Mobius said. "Like who? Freyja? Of course I do, we've been friends since we were children." I defended. "Not in that way. Though in ther future you'll tell each other how you feel. It was in Freyja's timeline. She watched it in the theatre when she first got here. You told her you loved her, she said I love you back. You got together, but before you died by the hand of Thanos, she got pregnant. And you had a baby boy together. Vidar Lokison, Prince of New Asgard." Mobius told me. "You're wrong. I don't love Freyja, she's my best and only friend." I finalised. Mobius didn't say anything, so we sat in silence - apart from the frantic turning of pages.
"Ah, there you guys are!" Freyja's voice said, as she appeared from around the corner. "What are we doing? Loki said you were searching for the Variant." She asked. But I found it. "Got him." I said, showing the file to Mobius and Freyja. "That's where he is." I said proudly. "Alabama 2050." Mobius read. "Let's go then." She grinned.
