I woke up to the sunlight peering from the bedroom curtains and hitting my eyes. I rubbed my eyes while also yawning rather sleepily before I realized where I was. What surprised me however, was when I woke up to find that I was alone in my bed and I wasn't sure where Remington was. Funny, I guess a small part of me was hoping to wake up next to him or something like that. I thought about how Remington realized already I'm not my sister but was still unbelievably open to get to know me and earn the right to have my heart in his. Could I really be this lucky to have such an amazing person such as Remington to be patient and caring with me even though we've barely met and don't know anything about each other? I know he was being nice to me, which is more than enough for me, but I hoped that I might be able to do the same and win his heart, if he'd let me. I was lost in my thoughts about Remington when the sudden, loud noise of a door opening on my right startled me.
As I turned to follow the sound, I was unexpectedly met with the sight of Remington standing in the bathroom, wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist and his hair was wet and dripping with water. I don't know why, but the sight made my cheeks heat up as I turned away and tried not to think about it too much. I heard Remington's footsteps approach closer to me and felt him press his lips onto my temple before greeting me with, "Good morning, my princess..." I turned to face him and his beautiful smile left me no choice but to reciprocate his smile as I greeted him back, "Uh, g-good morning, my prince. I apologize if...I was staring at you inappropriately, I didn't mean to-" I was interrupted when I felt his hand gently take my chin and lift my head up to look in his eyes as he told me, "You are my wife now, Lulu. Nothing you do will be inappropriate to me. Why, any attention from you is considered an honor for me." I was left wide-eyed as he went into the closet to get dressed and head out of the room afterwards.
After I got back to my senses, I managed to climb out of bed and finally undress myself of my wedding dress since I was much too tired to take it off last night. I looked inside the closet and found a simple-looking peach colored dress that seemed to be the most comfortable thing to wear for now. All the other dress here were beautiful and elegant, but I wasn't entirely sure I was ready to wear them just yet. After getting dressed and combing my hair, I proceeded to step out of the bedroom only to jump in surprise of Remington waiting for me as he was found leaning against the wall next to the doors. "Remington!", I exclaimed as I struggled to steady my heart, "You gave me a fright just now. I wasn't aware you'd be standing there outside of the room. But why, exactly?" He only chuckled as if what he did wasn't a big deal, but before I knew it, he stood in front of me and suggested, "Forgive me for startling you, but I wanted to have the honor of giving you a bit of a tour and show you around my home. If it's okay with you, of course."
I stared at Remington as he held his hand out for me to take, and then smiled sheepishly as I took his hand and he smiled back as he led me down the stairs. The castle was, indeed, a big place and it felt like it would take me forever to get used to it. Remington showed me pretty much every room and chamber in the castle and even introduced me to his staff, who all seemed like very nice people. One of the staff, who was a sweet girl looking a bit younger than me, was about to walk up to me and introduce herself, but then she tripped over herself and fell on the ground. I immediately went down to her level to help her stand back up and ask, "Are you alright?" She seemed embarrassed form her accident and only nodded while looking away. I noticed the other staff members giggling under their breath and looking at her, and I was sad to learn they must be giving her a hard time. I hoped it would stop soon as I told her, "I hope you're alright now, please come to me if you ever have any issues, Miss..." She finished my sentence, "Sophia, Your Highness. Thank you."
I nodded in acknowledgement of her kindness, and as we exited out of the room, I felt a hand on the side of my waist and gasped as Remington pulled me slightly closer to him as he stopped us to ask, "Can you spare an hour or two, my princess?" I raised my brows at his question and stumbled as I answered, "Um, y-yeah. I mean, I'm really not sure what I should do here or if you need to do anything important-" I stopped mid-sentence as Remington wrapped his other arm around me and hold me close to him, our faces just inches apart as he proposed, "My schedule is clear already. My purpose today is to invite you to join me in the gardens and spend some time getting to know you better. Believe me, it will not be time in my day wasted if I learn more about my wife." This man keeps surprising me in unexpected ways and I wasn't sure if I could ever expect something other than this. But as long as he kept making me feel safe and secure like this with him, I could never be tired of this. I replied with a smile, "I'd really like that, my prince."
