I didn't get any sleep last night, afraid Felix or the other men would come in, but I remained alone in the room until it was finally time for the exchange that night. A few men came in to carry me in the cage and have me brought outside where the cage was put on a small cart that was to be pulled by two horses. As soon as all the men were gathered and mounted on their horses, Felix rode on his own horse as he led them to where the location of the exchange would happen. It was quite late as we were moving, but to calm my nerves better, I looked up at the sky and admired the dazzling stars shining above me. They reminded me of the time I shared my first kiss with Remington as we were surrounded by a bunch of fireflies and it felt like paradise. Now that I think about it, I started to believe I loved Remington longe before we were that close and it was possible that with our love so strong and pure, we must have been fated to be together since before I even knew him.

We finally stopped and I snapped out of my spell as I watched in the distance a few lights in a foggy atmosphere, it was hard to make out. Then as they approached closer, I could see Remington leading his group of knights and I felt such sweet relief to see his face again. For some reason, he looked drained and restless, and I was wondering how long he might have been worried about me. I noticed behind him were also some men carrying large chests most likely containing the money Felix had asked for. Dread filled my veins as Remington was getting closer to Felix and I could see in the corner of my eye the intent to kill still fresh and alive in Felix's eyes. Remington stopped his horse in front of Felix and the look in his eyes were nothing like I've seen before. Usually they were gentle and soft whenever he looked at me, but his eyes looking at Felix were fueled with rage, hatred and resentment. At this point, whatever he does next was unpredictable to me.

"Remington, my old friend!", Felix went on to taunt him with a mischievous smile, "I just knew you'd do your part in following your instructions. I hope you got my message." Remington was deathly silent, he looked through Felix as if his stare would burn a hole in him. After a moment, Remington took a deep breath and spoke through gritted teeth, "I certainly did. But you should know better than to try to intimidate me, I've seen much worse and I can do much worse if you push me any further." Felix glared at him and then Remington added, "That being said, let's stop this bloodshed as soon as you take the treasure chests and then I'll hand you and your men positions of power." Felix rolled his eyes and replied with, "Very well, always trying to do the right thing even if it helps no one." Felix hopped off of his horse as he brought a few of his men with him to examine the treasure chests, I prayed this nightmare would be over soon. As Felix and his men prepared to open the chests, I noticed Remington and his knights and soldiers reaching for something inside each of their bags hanging over their horses, looking like they were preparing for something to happen.

My theory was proved correct the second the chests were opened and instead of riches and treasures, smoke clouds erupted and the men were blinded as they started to stumble around and were disoriented by the smoke. At the same moment, Remington and his soldiers placed what looked like goggles on their heads, probably to protect their eyes as they went forward to attack Felix's men and soon enough, a battle broke our between the two groups. It was gruesome to watch, but soon enough, one of Remington's knights came forward and stood close to me before removing their helmet and I was surprised to see Sir Sloan Maxima there to help me. "Stand back, Your Highness"  She warned me before she swung her sword at the lock and was successful to break it off so I wasn't trapped anymore. She reached her hand out for me and I was quick to take it as she helped pull me out of the cage. I stood on my feet as she took my hand and ran away from the battle, "We need to get you to a safer place, before you end up in the crossfire of this battle."

She led me to an alleyway where it seemed vacant, but then some thugs came along and started cornering me and Maxima. She was quick, however, and was able to subdue the thugs before asking me to stay hidden as she returned to the battle. I watched as the soldiers did their best to defend one another against the terrorists. I couldn't find Remington however and I started to get worried if he might have gotten hurt. I didn't have time to think about it as one of the terrorists caught my eye and started to march towards me with evil intent in their faces. I ran back into the alleyway trying to avoid his reach when I ended up in the back wall of it and I turned my head and shut my eyes to avoid seeing him. Then I heard a grunt of pain from him and what sounded like his body collapsing to the ground. I heard steps coming towards me and I was still to scared to open my eyes.

Soon enough, I felt a pair of strong arms carry me up from off the ground, and I was shaking because I was afraid I was going to be kidnapped again. But then I recognized the gentle hold of these arms and the familiar scent of someone I've been sharing a bed with for six months. "R-Remington? Is-Is that...y-you?", my voice was shaky and unsteady as I slowly opened my eyes and looked up to meet the sweet and gentle, tear-filled eyes of my precious husband as he looked at me like he hasn't seen me in a thousand years. More tears started to stream down his face as he continued to stare at me and he ended up falling to his knees, overcome with shock that we're back together in each other's grasp. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him close me as much as I could, he cradled my head with one hand and held me close to him with one arm as we cried in each other's arms and he spoke in the softest and most gentle voice I've ever heard him speak with, "It's me, Lulu. I'm here now. I've got you, and I won't let you go."
