The day of the his mother's birthday celebration, Remington rose early so we'd leave as soon as possible since the journey to his mother's kingdom takes about two days or so. He advised me that I should dress casually until we arrive to the castle there and we can get dressed in time for the ball. We packed lightly for the journey and I decided to leave my shoes off as we would stay in the carriage for a while. A few guards would be accompanying us so as nothing bad happens while we get there and when we would return. I bid farewell to my friends and everyone in the castle, the majority of them wished me a eventful time with Remington and the royal family, especially Sophia who expressed the most joy in seeing me and Remington blossom as a true pair of lovers. Soon enough, I stepped out of the castle to join my husband as he let me climb inside the carriage first and once we were both in, the driver commanded for the horses to take us ahead.

Sitting in the carriage as we proceeded to travel much farther this time from our home, I played with my hands nervously as I felt anxious about meeting Remington's family. If this role for myself would be to play a princess was my future, I had to show I could play this part perfectly while also proving that I could be a worthy partner to Remington. I knew Remington loved me back, but what Duchess Cora said about marriages in royalty and nobility stuck with me, how no one in those marriages really get married for love but instead for profit and business. I know why Remington had to get married to my sister to benefit the two kingdoms' union, but does that mean he never meant to have any affection for her, or me, initially? I have no idea what my sister was like even before I knew she existed, but part of me hopes she would have possessed good qualities that would make Remington find admiration for her, if the situation was different than it turned out for us.

I turned to Remington who was looking out the window and he seemed pleased to be going to see his mother again. It made me believe she must have been a great mother to her sons, I guess we both know what it's like to have mothers who we'd give anything in the world for. I wanted to ask him, "Remington?", he turned to face me as he heard my voice and replied with, "Yes, my love?" I was hesitant at first, but I wanted to know more about his past, "What was your mother like when you were younger?" He smiled at my question and answered my question as he stared at his priceless rings on his hand, "My mother...was a strong warrior in spirit, and a compassionate leader in soul. We lost our father at a young age when he chose to rule his own kingdom with another queen, but our mother was everything to us when she took care of us and raised us to be great leaders. I don't know if I'll ever live up to her example as an amazing ruler, but I'm doing my best as I put others before myself."

Touched by his praise for his parent-figure, I grabbed on to Remington's hand and held it tight as I said to him with a confident and reassuring tone, "You're doing more than your best, Remington, no one could be doing better. I may not know her, but I have a feeling your mother would be very proud of you. I am, deeply." His eyes glistened as I told him that, and before I knew it, he held the side of my face as he pressed his lips onto mine and I kissed back in joy as I ran my hand through his short, black hair. Once he pulled away, he leaned his forehead onto mine as he whispered, "My mother is going to love you so much, you're just too precious for this cruel world." That made me blush and smile at his sweet words. When it turned dark, we decided to stop the carriage and rest for the night so we'd have plenty of energy for arriving at his mother's castle. The guards would take turns keeping watch while one sleeps so they'd stay alert of any sign of danger or threat.

Meanwhile, I was fixing my hair for the night as I loosened it and let it fall over my shoulders. In one moment, I felt Remington take some of my hair in his hand and as I turned to witness him admiring the feel of it in his fingers, he brought it up to his face as he smelled the scent of my hair and pressed it against his lips. The sight made my heartbeat quicken before his eyes focused on mine and I watched with widened eyes as he inched closer and started to kiss me passionately, slowly pushing me down on the seat inside of the carriage until I was on my back. I was overwhelmed with how he was overpowering me, but it got worse as the way he was kissing me with his body pressed against mine led me to make embarrassing sounds in his mouth. He pulled away to stare into my eyes and breathe heavily as he exclaim in a seductive tone, "God, you drive me crazy, my lovely angel. Those sounds you were making only make me want to make love to you even more then before and let you feel every once of my love just for you and you alone."

His words left me speechless and I felt my face turn red as a tomato, it made Remington smile to see me so flustered. He leaned down to kiss me again and this time, he moved his lips across my jaw and down to my neck, where the sounds I made were more clear to hear and I tried so hard not to be so loud as I held him close and tightly gripped his hair. After a while, Remington pulled away from kissing my neck to kiss my lips once more and then climb off of me as he helped me get up from lying down. He leaned his back against the inner wall of the carriage and pulled me close and let me sit on his lap so I could rest my head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around me and pressed his lips in my hair sweetly. He whispered while caressing my back soothingly, "Good night, Lulu. I love you." I smiled as I snuggled up against him and kissed his chest softly, "Good night, Remington. I love you too...more than I ever expected to..." We drifted off to sleep in each other's arms then, and I dreamt about my future with Remington that night.
