CH15-Dinner date?

Jas had put on the radio for me once we got going further enough away from the place I will never go to again. The song 'Stand By You' by Rachel Plattern came on and I started to sing quietly along with the positive song. I'm really happy that that song was the one to come on. It always seems to put me in high spirits.

"I'll be your arms, I'll be your steady set of eyes, when yours can't shine. Oh I'll crawl on down on hands and knees cuz I'm gonna stand by you." I ended up raising my volume on the high notes bc lord knows I can't hit those without the volume behind it. I feel Jasper's eyes glance from the road to me as the song progresses and eventually finishes.

We pull up to the restaurant that Bella was supposed to meet the girls at not too much longer after the song had changed. He parks behind Edward's car and turns off my truck. He looks over at me and places his hand to cup my cheek. My anxiety has calmed down to where I only slightly flinch at sudden contact.

I smile as I lean into his touch. I place my hand over his and bring it to my lips gently kissing his frigid digits. He sighs and releases his hand getting out of the car.

I sit back and lean my head up closing my eyes trying to relax a little more. I hear the door to my side open and I feel jasper place his hand on mine taking it in his.

I step out of the truck with my hand still held in Jasper's and I pull his coat closer to my body. I see Bella get stopped by Jessica and Angela. She's spazzing when Edward steps in offering to get her food. The girls say bye and start walking towards us. Jasper leads me to meet them at their car.

"Sorry I couldn't go dress shopping with you guys. Bella told me that you invited me but I was busy." I say to them. They look at me with forgiving looks. "It's ok." Jessica says with a small smile. "Maybe next time." Angela says giving my shoulder a comforting rub.

I pull Jasper to the restaurant and turn around to see the girls pull away. I turn back and pull Jasper inside. "You were very nice to them." He whispers. "I'm proud of you." He says. I roll my eyes playfully and give him a light shove. He chuckles at my antics.

I see Bella and Edward towards the back of the restaurant and make my way, with Jasper, towards them.

"Hey sorry I wanted to say bye to Jessica and Angela." I say as I give my sisters shoulder a pat. Jas and I sit down across from them.

"It's ok. Edward and I haven't ordered yet so you guys can decide what you want." She says. Yea Jasper isn't getting anything and neither is Edward.

I smile at her words and make eye contact with Edward. He furrows his brows at my narrowed eyes.

Tell her. Now.

I think and he rolls his eyes and turns to Jasper like he's expecting him to keep me under control.

"Ya know what I think I'll just have Jas take me home. It's late and I don't feel like driving. Is that ok Babe?" I turn my question to him and he of course smiles and nods, happy to help me and also glad to leave Edward to his own defense.

"It was nice seeing you Bella." He says to her with a gentle smile. Then he turns to Edward smirking, "I'll see you at home Edward."

I smile holding in a giggle and stand from my seat grasping Jaspers hand once more.

We leave the restaurant and get back to my truck. I snuggle up in Jasper's coat and close my eyes as he starts the car and pulls away.

Not much later I'm being woken up. I feel someone gently shaking me. "Darling, wake up, we're back at your house." I hear. I open my eyes slowly and see that I'm indeed sitting in my driveway. I don't see Charlie's cruiser which means he's probably at the station still. I look to my side and see Jasper with my door open and his soft hands on my shoulder.

I pathetically raise my arms up to him with a persuading smile. I see his eyes roll and a grin take over his lips. "Alright." He whispers placing his left arm around my back and his right under my legs. My arms wrap around his neck and hold onto him and he lifts me bridal style. He carries me into the house, up the stairs and to my room.

He places me down on the floor so I'm standing on my own 2 feet.

He goes to my dresser, pulls out a pair of booty shorts and one of his shirts that he keeps here then hands them to me. He walks back out the door and closes it allowing me to get changed in private. I smile at his thoughtfulness and get changed.

Once I'm in my sleepwear I open my door and allow him back in. He comes in and closes the door once more.

I crawl into my bed and stare at the ceiling in thought. Jas changes into a pair of his sweats and climbs in next to me.

He pulls me into his person and holds me tightly not planning to let go anytime soon. He gently kisses my head and I nuzzle into his neck. "Get some sleep Sweetheart. You've had a rough end to your day. I'll be here when you wake up, I promise."

My eyelids became heavy and just as I was falling asleep, I hear the front door open.
