CH20-Dinner With the Cullens pt1

Bella and I are invited to the Cullens' house today and I can't wait to see Rose. Right now, Jasper and I are driving behind Edward's car in his jeep. While driving up to the house Jasper grabs my thigh and squeezes it comfortingly as I'm sure I'm radiating with anxiety.

I feel a spark where he's touching and turn to him to see if he felt the same thing but his attention remains on the road. If he had felt it I'm sure he would've reacted in some way. Even a tiny facial expression. My eyes start to deceive me as a light pink aura surrounds his body. It's faint, barely there but noticeable to those who closely pay attention.

My eyebrows furrow in confusion. I blink a few times and the aura is gone. I shake my head and pass it off as my eyes playing tricks on me

We finally pull off the main road to a private-looking dirt road leading to a giant beautiful house in the middle of the forest.

Edward pulls up to the house and parks his car first and Jasper pulls right behind stopping the vehicle and putting it in park. Bella and Edward get out first and head to the door. I take in the exquisite tranquil scene before me.

I faintly hear Jas exit the SUV, walk to my side and open the door. I unbuckle slowly still mesmerized by the sight. He smirks at me and my dazed expression.

"Glad you like it love." He says smugly. I roll my eyes and gently punch his shoulder before getting out of the vehicle. He closes the door and grabs my hand dragging me to the front of the large house. My eyes however are trained on the seeming never ending line of trees surrounding us.

I take a deep breath in and release it steadily taking in the pine tree smell. I turn back around and glance up at Jas. He sends me a warm smile and looks at me with adoration shining in his eyes.

Jasper pushes the door open by the handle allowing us to enter first. He closes the door behind Edward and comes up to me softly taking my jacket off my shoulders. He leans down next to my ear and whispers, "Plan to spend the whole day here."

I smile brightly at the statement and nod my head in excitement. He chuckles at my actions and we continue through the house. Bella stares in awe as she looks around. "This is incredible." She says as Edward takes her jacket off handing both of their light coats to Jas.

He rolls his eyes and tosses the four coats onto the bench next to the door.

"It's so light and open," I state standing next to my sister looking up at the intricate details of the ceiling and artwork along the walls.

Both vampires eye the two of us in amusement.

"Well, what'd the two of you expect, coffins and dungeons and moats?" Jasper inquires I'm sure raising an eyebrow.

Bella shakes her head. "No, not the moats." She replies and I giggle and nod my head in agreement.

"Not the moats," Edward says shaking his head and leading us forward along with Jasper.

We walk up some stairs with Edward leading and he stops turning to face Bella and me and says, "This is the one place we don't have to hide." He places his arm around Bella and leads her up the stairs as I feel Jasper come up behind me.

He softly reaches out and grabs my hand allowing me to lead him up the stairs.

I suddenly hear what sounds like Opera music in the background of an Italian man speaking.

Huh?

We continue slowly up the stairs. Edward chuckles slightly probably having read my thought. "I told them not to do this." He says.

"But no one can stop Alice and Esme," Jasper says smirking once again. We continue the rest of the way up and into a spacious area with couches and chairs on the carpeted floor.
