*Same as CH2. This one is chapters 13 and 14 combined.*

**Also for clarification,
I realize that Edward's middle name is Anthony, the reason I put his middle name as 'James' is cuz I couldn't remember what his middle name was and just decided to keep it that way as something more for Liz to tease him with.

There have been a couple comments on it and I forgot to clarify it at the start of the chapter as I did in the comments so here is the official clarification.

As well as a small little spoiler or hint, there will be tie-in to his joking middle name toward the end of the book after their confrontation with the bad vampire James.** (edited 2/16/2024)

We walk out of the building to see teens playing with a large box of worms just near the exit. Gross. Anyway, further away next to the buses we see Bella and Edward talking again. My eyes widen as I look at Jasper only to find he's already looking at me. We both nod and made our way towards the two bickering people.

Alice and Adam pops up behind us as we're off to the side listening in on Edward and Bella's conversation. "Bella I don't think we can be friends." He says. "You probably should've thought about that before," Bella replies. Alice jumps in front of Jasper and I as well as pulling Adam with her and making Jasper and I roll our eyes exasperatedly.

"Hey, you wanna ride with us?" Her perky voice asks. "No, our bus is full," Edward replies stubbornly. With that, he hits his fist lightly on the bus door and it opens allowing him in. Bella scoffs and walks away as Alice and Adam go to get on. "Oh no. Let us go first." I say as I go in front of Alice pulling Jasper with me. I see Edward sitting in the back by himself looking longingly out the window probably at Bella.

I make my way back to him and smack his head hard snapping him out of his thoughts. I have a scowl on my face. I take the seat in front of him allowing Jasper to sit on the aisle seat. "That's how you decide to take care of this situation? You're a complete idiot Edward James Cullen!" I exclaim to him as I try to hit him more, but he keeps blocking my attacks.

I finally give up and let out a sigh of annoyance. "You better start talking before I choose to become a vampire killer." I snap at him. His eyes widen slightly as he gulps and starts to speak. "I just can't. Every time I'm even remotely close to telling her I think of all the bad things that could happen to her when or if I do and I back out and decide to put distance between us." I narrow my eyes at him. I shift my gaze to Jasper and it softens slightly.

"Jasper, can you please talk some sense into Edward?" I ask my boyfriend nicely as I glare at Edward when I finish. "Sorry, babe. It's his choice. He has to live with it." I groan in annoyance and plop down into my seat. "But that means I have to live with it and I can't live with it." I practically whine. Jasper puts an arm around my waist and pulls me into him.

"I promise he'll be with her before the end of the school year, ok?" He promises me. I sigh in defeat. "Fine, but if they're not, I'm gonna kick his ass," I say pointing back at Edward. Jasper nods and pulls me closer to him while I lay my head on his chest.

It's silent for the rest of the bus ride.

After we get back to school, the day is over and it's time to go home. Jasper and I make our way to my truck. I stop right in front of my door and he comes right up in front of me grabbing my waist with his hands. I still could not believe Edward's response to my sister. He's being an idiot. Though I digress.

I sigh. "I don't want to go home having to leave you," I say as I snuggle my head into his chest. I feel his chest vibrate as he chuckles at my clinginess. "But you do have to go home. I'll see you tomorrow," he replies back.

I groan inwardly as I feel him gently kiss me on the head and his arms slowly remove themselves from around me. I lift my head up away from his welcoming embrace and raise it up a little. He bends down in response and our lips meet in the middle in a warm and tender kiss. I sigh as we pull away and I mutter the words, "I love you."

He smiles down at me. "I love you too," he says as he starts to pull away. "I'll see you tomorrow." With that he walks to his car across the lot where Edward is waiting for him. I sigh happily and get in my truck heading home.

When I get home, Bella is just getting out of her truck. "Hey," I greet her with a small smile. She looks over at me and returns the gesture. "Hi," she responds. "So what'd you think of the field trip?" I ask trying to make small talk. "It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't good either," she replies with a little attitude.

"You?" She asks as we get to the door. "I honestly am not sure. The field trip itself was boring, but I liked hanging out with my friends while not at school even if it was a school trip." I say as she unlocks the door and we walk in. I throw my stuff down by the door and shrug my coat off hanging it up on the coat rack.

Bella and I walk into the kitchen to see dad sitting at the table. Bella walks over and starts cleaning off the table. "Your mom called, again." He says. "Yeah well, maybe you shouldn't have told her about the almost accident." Bella pauses as she picks up an empty bag of chips and then proceeds to ask, "Are you finished?" Dad doesn't even respond before she starts walking toward the garbage and sink. Thankfully he at least nods giving a simple "Yeah." She puts the dishes in the sink throwing the empty chip bag away as well.

I take the seat across from dad as he continues to talk. "Yeah I suppose you're right. She always did know how to worry." He takes a drink of his beer and continues. "She seems different. She seems happy." I nod and reply, "Yeah she is." "Phil sounds like an alright guy." Bella nods this time and responds, "Yeah he is." Then she mutters something and sarcastically chuckles before she leaves the kitchen to go upstairs.

I sigh at her rudeness and turn to dad. "I'm sorry she's being like this dad. Honestly I don't think it's anything to do with you. She's having some trouble readjusting at school." I say as he nods at my words. I stand from my spot and head up to my room.
