After a long and last year in middle school, everyone is back to start a fresh new year in highschool, Oletus High. Aesop was on the way to school when he met someone who was close to him since they were kids, Eli. "Eli!" he shouted. Eli turned back and saw his best friend. "Aesop! It's been such a long holiday. How have you been?" "Well doing what I always do best, embalming" "Of course of course. Well wanna head to class together?" "Sure!"
Both of them stopped by their locker to put down their bags and to grab their books out. It was Art lesson early in the morning, Aesop's favourite subject. "Can't wait to meet our Art teacher. Bet they are gonna teach well like how our middle school art teacher did, Mrs Ruth."
"Man I miss her. She was so kind though" They talked about their teacher till they entered class. The whole class consists of 25 students, mixed hunters and survivors together. Both of them wanted to sit next to each other but there was no free seats beside each other. The only free sits are next to Naib, the class joker and Joseph, the class photographer.
As they took their seats, the class teacher, Mrs. Nightingale entered the room. "Morning class. Welcome to highschool. How's everyone's holiday?" The whole class went from slient to a concert! Everyone started to talk about their holiday. There were a few people who didnt say anything but just kept everything to themselves. One of them was Joseph who was just busy meddling with his camera.
"Hi there. I'm Aesop." Aesop decided to start a convensation with him as he too wasnt talking about his holiday. "Hi. The name's Joseph."
"What's with the camera? Can I hold it?"
"..." He was slient for a while as the camera itself holds a story, a story of his past. He doesnt really want others to care for he had a hard life.
"Joseph?"
"...oh sorry. yeah sure. here, pls be careful." He then passes Aesop the camera.
"This camera seems old, dont you think? Dont you wanna change it?"
"..." He went slient again. "Excuse me, Aesop" He then stood up and asked for permission to leave for the washroom.
I wonder what's up with him. Maybe first day jitters? Aesop thought to himself. The teacher then asked the whole class to be quiet as she wants to start the lesson.
After 10 minutes, Joseph still hasnt come back from the washroom. The teacher starts to get concerned. "Can anyone go and find Mr. Desaulniers? He has been gone for too long" Aesop raised his hand up. "I'll handle it, miss" She gave permission for him to leave.
What just happened? It's just the first day of school and Aesop is already close to Joseph? Eli thought to himself and told Naib. "Aww maybe they are both in love or something" "Dont say something like that Naib. He barely knows him and plus in middle school, they seperated both hunters and survivors." Naib nodded in agreement and laid back on his chair while staring out the window.
Aesop went to the washroom to find Joseph. As he entered, he called out his name. "Joseph? You there?" "Hello??" Then there was a knocking sound on one of the cubicles.
"I'm here, Aesop. Why did you come and find me?"
"Well teacher is looking for you and class has started"
"Ok, I'll be out in a minute. Also, can you wait for me?"
"Yeah sure. I'll be outside." Is he ok? What's with his cold and isolated personality? He thought to himself as he waited for Joseph. Before long, he came out.
"Thanks for waiting."
"No problem. Let's head back to class."
Both of them went back to class and the teacher is already halfway through the lesson. "Thank you Aesop. Well Joseph, do you have to explain anything for your long visit to the washroom?"
He denied it and just walked back to his seat. As Aesop walked back to his seat, Eli nudged his arm. "Hey what's with him and you too?"
"What do you mean me and him? We hardly know each other. I just wanted to make things right cuz he was quiet when I asked him some question and I thought I accidently offended or hurt him."
Eli gave him the cheeky eyes and Aesop just rolled his. Mrs. Nightingale politely asked Aesop to return to his seat.
As he went back and sat down, Joseph passed him a photo. "Here take it as a sign of my gratitude."

"O-Oh what have I done to deserve this photo? Also how did you take this?"
"You waited for me. No one really listens to me anyway. Oh when i was meddling with my camera, I took it by accident. I didnt know it will turn out to be this good"
"Oh thank you then. It looks beautiful"
A few minutes before the bell rang, Mrs. Nightingale decided to choose some people for the class commitee. "Alright everyone. It's time to choose the class commitee gang"
They started whispering about who is going to get the positions. "The class president will go to Joseph Desaulniers." Joseph's eyes popped out. "W-What?"
"Yes, based on your performance in middle school. You bested everyone in this class."
"Oh thank you" A few group of students started whispering about who his assistant will be.
"The class assistant for Joseph will be Aesop." "Wait what?" Aesop's head was spinning till be collasped.
The teacher immediately called the school doctor and brought him to the clinic. She then continued with her choice of students. Emily and Andrew be incharge of cleanliness, Fiona and Luca be in-charge of the class decoration. Emma will be in-charge of the plants and Naib will be the class disciplinary officer.
Naib jumped out from his chair and said "WAIT NO! EVERYONE HERE KNOWS I AM THE PERSON IS CAUSES TROUBLE AND JOKER OF THE CLASS!"
"Yes, so that is why I specifically picked you so you can discipline yourself too"
"What if i cant then?"
"Then detention it is and admission into summer school"
"NOOOOOOO"
"Then do your job well" Naib nodded his head and sat back down as Eli pat his head.
I wonder if Aesop is ok. Joseph thought to himself. Jack then called him. "Hey Jos. Is your head ok?"
"Yeah yeah dont worry about me. Worry about the guy you like since middle school" Joseph then pointed to Naib.
"OKOK STOP IT! YOU AARE GONNA MAKE IT OBVIOUS."
Just on time, Naib looked towards the back of the class and glanced at Jack. "Oh crap. He just looked at me. Thank you so much, Jos."
"I did you a favor ok?? Be grateful"
Naib then signaled Jack to meet him after school hours. He agreed. Then the bell then rang. "Ok class is over. You may proceed to your next class" All of them left the room to prepare for the next lesson.
