I wouldn't say I'm afraid of Amelia but I definitely didn't get off on the right foot with her.
Monday morning came along and in a flash I was standing at the entrance of my new school. Moon Peak High. I fixed the plaid skirt of my brand new uniform and started to walk in.
"It's Amelia! Amelia's arrived!" a student on my right shouted.
Everyone created a path and I was shoved towards the back of the crowd.
Two girls walked up the path towards the school, smiling at everyone. Of course one of them was Amelia McCallister, my one and only step-sister. The other? Her best friend Esme Gibbs.
Amelia and Esme were the most popular and richest girls at Moon Peak. Their fathers were business partners and the co-CEOs of Westchester City's most luxurious hotel chains.
With their twinning shiny hair, Amelia's curled and raven black and Esme's straightened and golden blonde, why wouldn't they be a sight for all the students and even teachers of this school. In fact, everyone in Westchester loved and admired them.
"Amelia, let's go find our homeroom," Esme beamed.
Amelia was about to respond when she spotted me. She stopped, nodded at me, and walked away with Esme in tow.
"Oh my gosh!" "Who did she nod at?" "Is she dating someone!?" were some of the exclamations and questions flying away once they left.
I sighed. People would be so disappointed to find out Amelia was nodding at me and not some secret significant other of hers. The crowd started to disperse and somehow I lost my balance and tried over my backpack which I had put on the ground.
"Ah!" I yelled, flapping my arms rapidly to try and balance myself.
Someone from beside me attempted to grab my arms from in front of me.
But it was too late. I had fallen on the ground.
"Are you okay?" the guy asked.
"No, my ankle hurts," I cringed. It really did. So much.
The guy crouched down and patted his back. "Get on."
I climbed onto his back and he rushed off, with my backpack in this hand and me on his back.
