"Hey, Lauren. Want to eat lunch together?" Spencer asked me, as we walked to the cafeteria.
"Yeah, okay!" I smiled. We lined up to get our food together. I spotted Amelia grabbing a seat next to Noah and some other guys on the far end of the cafeteria.
"Amelia really tries so hard," I laughed.
Spencer nodded. "Hmm. Yeah. Everyone knows they like each other but themselves."
"Noah likes Amelia, too?" I asked.
Spencer scratched his head. "Well, people say he does but since when is gossip true. I don't know. There's a lot of history between them. But they do look really good together."
"I see." I turned around and smiled at the person serving the food. "Oh, hey. It's our turn to order."
After getting our lunches, Spencer and I sat down at an empty table.
"So, what types of things are you interested in? Besides the broadcasting club and making milkshakes?" asked Spencer. The last part was meant to be a joke, I'm sure.
"I've always found singing cool. People always tell me I have a nice voice but I mean, who would tell someone they didn't?"
Spencer choked on his food, which we both laughed at. "That's... that's hilarious. I would love to hear you sing sometime."
"Never," I stated. He raised one eyebrow at me and I giggled. "Okay, okay. Maybe someday. In the distant future..."
Spencer grinned, "Deal. That just means we get to be friends for a long time. Also, your birthday celebration is soon, right?"
"Oh, yeah. I completely forgot," I laughed.
I was turning 17 in only a day.
