"That must be heavy. Let me carry them," Spencer offered, nodding at the textbooks I was carrying. We were assigned by our Math teacher to get the textbooks from another classroom and were on our way back.

"No, it's okay," I said.

"Seriously. Here, give them to me." Spencer took the textbooks out of my arm.

"Thanks." We walked to class silently and just as we were about to enter the classroom, Spencer grabbed my arm.

"Hey, if you're free today, do you want to maybe go to the movies?" he asked.

I paused. Was this a date? No, we're just friends. "Sure! I'll love to!"

Spencer smiled and we went in together.

After school, Spencer and I walked to the move theatre together. My mind trailed off for a moment but the next thing I knew, Spencer spun me around and pulled me close to him. I gasped and looked to the left of me. A motorcycle had just zoomed by and I completely didn't notice. I was frozen in position with his arms around me as I looked up, into his eyes.

"Be careful," he whispered. We stayed on the street, embracing each other for a few more seconds until we parted.

"Wow. I didn't notice. Thanks," I murmured, still in shock.

Spencer nodded and then took my hand, to my surprise. "Come on, let's go."

We jogged together to the theatre, hand in hand. I really was having such a good time with him.

At the theatre, Spencer bought the tickets and I got the snacks. As we were about to enter the movie, I decided to quickly use the washroom. I was washing my hands when I saw a girl enter wearing Moon Peak High's uniform. I looked at her face and immediately recognized her as Esme.

"Oh, hi," she waved, slightly.

"Hi."

She smiled, "Are you here with someone?" There was a slight undertone to her voice, like she wouldn't believe me if I said yes.

"Yeah, I'm here with Spencer," I stated.

Esme smirked. "Oh really? That's sick. Have a good time, I guess." Then, she went into one of the stalls and I walked out.

During the movie, I reached for popcorn and my hand met Spencer's. We looked at each other and started laughing, causing people behind to shush us.

"Hey, there's a really good pizza place near here. Want to go?" he asked after the movie had ended. I checked the time on my phone and shook my head.

"No, I can't, sorry. My job starts in half an hour."

"Okay, well next time," Spencer smiled.

"Yeah, for sure," I replied.
