"Welcome to Malibu Beach, Darling."

Malibu Beach.

I never thought I would've made it here for a very long time. While cars are scary to me, I can't say that I have the worst trauma in the world. I can still look and watch them, and apparently let two people drive me places.

So when I stepped out of the car in a whole new city, I was astounded. My feet were placed on the grainy asphalt, the car parked on a dirt road. The sunlight beams reflected off the black paint of his car, surely making it so hot on the inside.

I see out of my peripheral vision him coming to stand next to me as the wind blows softly, and the ocean smell surrounds us both.

"Beautiful isn't it?" He asks as we stare out into the ocean where a whole new world is. Life past the shore was waiting beyond the horizon like no other. It stretches as far as the eye can see. The sun glimmers upon the surface of the water, leaving only the things below it to be enclosed in complete and utter darkness.

"The most peaceful kind of beautiful." I respond, keeping my eyes locked on the serene brutality of the ocean. The power it holds is unimaginable. I can feel his eyes on me instead of on the scenery. How he can even take his eyes off of it confuses me.

"I disagree." He whispers almost as if he didn't want me to hear. With his small confession, my heart palpitates at the message behind his disagreement.

"Should we go down?" I say instead of responding, pretending as if I didn't hear him just like he had intended. I take a step forward in the broken up rocks.

"If you wish." He replies softly, matching my steps and leading me towards the beach. We don't even grab the bags, we only take ourselves toward the untamed ocean.

"I do. Take me there, please." I say as I look at him who has continued to keep his soft green eyes on me. They are brighter in sunlight, I've come to realize.

"As you wish." He says, taking my hand softly and guiding me down the rocky steps and into the soft sand. I leave my shoes at the base of the slight cliff where our car was parked near an off road stand on an elevation. My feet sunk down slightly into the white ground up rocks. The sand filled between my toes as Harry did the same. He slid off his shoes and left them placed next to mine as he pulled me towards the ocean where the land met the sea.

Our fingers softly laced together and it shocked me how quickly his personality had changed. The first night I met him he was cold, then so quickly the man I had first met vanished and left me with such a kind but clearly broken soul.

I didn't mind the broken. I think everyone was broken in a way. You just have to allow others to pick up the pieces. Sometimes being broken allows you to be more beautiful than you were originally. A rock broken in half sometimes allows you to see the crystals inside.
