"How did the mission go, Ambrogio?" Giovanni asked from a screen.
"It was a failure, sir. I'm sorry for this... I promise this won't happen again!" Ambrogio said while bowing down.
"Hmm... how about the details?" he continued to ask.
"S-several members have been detained by the police, and these two are m-missing. W-we were successful in taking Lumiose City as a hostage, but these trainers just messed up our plans, surrounded us in this tower, and we had to retreat," he explained while shivering in fear.
"Alright. You said Jessie and James went missing, huh... let me contact them. Thanks for the information," Giovanni said.
"Yes, sir!" Ambrogio saluted and replied as the call ended.
Then, Ambrogio sighed and gazed at the stars from the space station's wide windows. Yet suddenly, two people entered his room. They wore black uniforms, with the red R emblazoned on them.
"Cassidy, Biff, what are you doing in here?" he asked.
"It's Butch, you idiot!" Butch shouted angrily to correct Ambrogio's mispronunciation.
"Ah... yeah, but why are you here?"
"I overheard your conversation with Boss Giovanni, and I've heard that... our rivals are gone. Can you tell me how it happened?" Cassidy asked.
"I... don't know. They just vanished when we were fighting against the Kalosian police," Ambrogio replied.
"Well, they haven't been arrested, right?" Butch asked further.
"Yeah, I don't think so," he replied, "Wait, no, I'm certain that they haven't."
"What makes you so certain?" Butch doubted him.
"I don't know, man, I don't feel like they would've been caught..." he explained.
"So, it's all a hunch, huh?" Cassidy interrogated.
"Yeah, so to speak..." he replied.
"Damn it, we're out, 'thanks' I guess," Butch said while walking out from the room.
In Giovanni's chamber, he was sitting in a luxurious black chair levitating above the floor. He pressed a button, which caused a screen to appear. Jessie and James' holographic device displayed a picture of Giovanni with a bluish tint on the mossy wall. They were at their old temporary base, in a broken warehouse.
One-fifth of the roof collapsed into the floor filled with puddles from dripping water, and the glass windows and parts of the roof with glass have shattered into oblivion. The mechanical parts left by Team Rocket after they departed from Kalos lay broken on the floor, with torn-down wires and rotting metal.
"Ah, you guys are there. I've heard from Ambrogio that you're missing. What exactly happened?" asked Giovanni.
"These scumbag subordinates who recently joined our team! Tell me, Giovanni, why did you recruit them?!" Jessie wrathfully asked while putting her face right in front of the device.
"She's right! We're the upholders of righteous evil, not a refuge for vile scum!" James continued.
"Uhh... we were short on manpower," Giovanni explained, "so we had to deal with them. So, could you join Team Rocket again?"
"Only if you get rid of them after this, meow!" Meowth answered while scratching the holographic Giovanni on the wall.
"Don't worry, I will. I'm not going to stain our team anymore. I have limits, you know?" Giovanni said, "Oh, and if you want to come back now, I have a rocket ready for you guys."
