The Return of the Adventurer

"I'm back!" shouted Ash Ketchum while exiting the plane in the Lumiose Airport. As he walked out, the fresh Kalosian wind touched his jacket, and a flock of Fletchlings flew away from the sign saying "Lumiose Airport." Wasting no time, Ash rushed through the avenues of Lumiose City towards the Prism Tower.

"It's just like the old days 5 years ago..." Ash thought to himself. "This calm breeze, this fresh air, the lively streets, and the beautiful buildings... I love it! This feeling is only second to the thrill of battling!" As he was lost in his thought, he crashed straight into the glass wall of the base of the Prism Tower.

"Ouch... this hurts," Ash Ketchum said while rubbing his forehead. Then, as he stopped rubbing his forehead, he heard a familiar sound from a distance: "Ash, are you okay?" said the familiar voice. Ash ran in the direction of that sound, until...

"Clemont?! Is that you?" Ash said in a surprised, shocked tone.

"Hmm? Are you... Ash Ketchum?" Clemont replied while he connected the cables for his new invention.

"You remembered me?! Long time no see, Clemont!" Ash said in a rather cheerful tone.

"Heh, it has been a long time indeed, Ash! How have you been all these years?" asked Clemont.

"Well, let's say it has been... pretty similar to my journeys in Kalos! I journeyed through many regions, all until I reach my goal, the Pokemon Master with Pikachu and all my Pokemons! How about you?" Ash replied.

"Hmm... I developed my inventions so that humans and Pokemon alike can live happily in harmony. From my failures of the past, I have learned certain things, and you have said this to me, Serena and Bonnie back then... 'Never give up until it's over.' I have followed your advice, and I have become a successful inventor now. Thanks a lot, Ash!" Clemont said in an upbeat tone.

"No need to thank me, Clemont, that's what friends should do! Speaking of Serena and Bonnie, what are they doing now?" Ash asked Clemont.

During a pause in their conversation, Bunnelby and Chespin came out from their Pokeballs and approached Pikachu. These two Pokemon hugged Pikachu and chatted with him, right next to Clemont. "Bunnelby, Chespin!" Clemont said to them. "Well, nevermind that. As for my little sister, she is now a trainer and already has four badges. She is heading back now. As for Serena, well... I don't know much about the details, but she just challenged the Master Class and became the Kalos Queen."

"Wow, that's great! So all of us have been closer to our goals since we parted with each other, to our paths..." Ash said. Right after talking with Clemont, Ash looked at the Pokemon talking and playing with each other. "We've been working together really hard for our goal, to become the Pokemon Master. I think me and my Pokemon deserve a good rest for all we have done. Right, Pikachu? But... I've only thought of battling... and training, and only spare a little time for bonding." Ash pondered to himself.

"Ash, is anything wrong?" Clemont asked him, looking at his blank stare towards an empty wall. "Don't worry, Clemont, everything's fine! Also, do you want to eat somewhere and visit Professor Sycamore's place some time?" Ash replied to Clemont's question, faking a smile afterward. "Hmm... that's really unlike his normal behavior. Is anything wrong?" Clemont muttered to himself, facing away from Ash. "Clemont?" Ash asked him. "Yeah, let's go now!" Right after that, Clemont returned Bunnelby and Chespin into their Pokeballs. 

Then, as the sun sank beneath the Lumiose skyline, Ash and Clemont walked out of the Prism Tower. They walked side by side in the lively and warm pavements of the inner city of Lumiose. As the sky darkened above them, they reached their destination - a restaurant located right next to the Sycamore's Lab. As they went inside, they ordered food and sat on the table near the edge. While eating, these two reminisced on the old days, journeying with Pokemon and friends alike. Amid their conversation, Ash mentioned the tradition of challenging the Lumiose Gym as the fifth gym and how Bonnie got her fourth badge already.
