Nights of the Counter-Attack

When everyone's bellies were filled with food, Ash's phone rang. It was Alain calling him to discuss the plans for the counter-attack. Ash responded to the call and greeted him with a voice weighed down by his full belly.

"Hey Ash, are you done with the plan?" Alain asked.

"Uhhh... hold up. Vasyl?"

He ran to Ash's couch, sitting next to him but keeping a distance the size of a fist with him. "Yeah, Alain. I made a map of Kalos and Lumiose. It's going to be useful for planning," he said while pointing around the map.

"Show it to me."

Vasyl proceeded to turn on the video and pointed the phone's camera towards the map. Alain was in awe at its amount of detail and accuracy. To him, it seemed like it was a pencil-sketched map traced from a satellite map because of those qualities.

"Vasyl... did you draw it by memory, or did you trace it?"

"Drew it by memory. Alain, you're going to attack from the northwestern route, and we're going to attack from the southeast."

"Alright, when are we going to do it?"

"Uhhh...." he said and then paused for long. "Serena, when could the soldiers come?"

"Ummm..." Serena pondered. Then, from behind the thin walls of the house, a voice was heard, presumed to be Calem's.

"Four days more, Serena! Give me four days then we'll attack on the fifth day!"

"Uhhh, alright then! We're going to attack five days from now!" Vasyl said to Alain.

"Five days... then I could call on other elite trainers. Thanks, Ash!"

"Hey, I'm Vas-" he said, but the call already ended.

Then, around an hour and a half later, Clemont came to unfold and extend his inflatable mattress. It covered all of the bedroom floors, and everyone except Serena and Bonnie slept on this floor. The distance between each person was practically nonexistent except for a one-meter gap between the boys and the girls.

After around eight hours, they were woken up by the sunlight coming out from a thin line that the curtain didn't cover and by Fletchling pecking everyone. The situation was hectic, as they stacked on top of each other as they tried to wake up. Ash somehow managed to crawl out from the room through a sea of bodies, followed by everyone else.

The second day was relatively uneventful. It was just another day staying at Serena's house. Meanwhile, Alain went to the Tower of Mastery to tell Korrina and Gurkinn about the plan during midday. The sun scorched the western coast, and Alain's jacket got soaked by sweat.Korrina skated around the courtyard around the tower with her Lucario until she saw Alain walking towards the tower. She immediately recognized him, as she knew all of the strong trainers in Kalos by heart.
