The big golden doors to Loki's chambers swung open as we approached. The room was golden all around with Green accented furniture. I gasped in awe of how beautiful his chambers were. "Loki, This is..... beautiful" He smiled down at me. "I thought you would approve my Darling" He took my hand and lead me over to the couch by a bookshelf. "I thought that tonight, We could relax with a good book together before we head to sleep" He smiled as he pushed some hair out of my face and caressing my cheek. I quietly moaned in relief at his touch on my face. "That sounds really good, Loki. I'd love that" I smiled.
He gently grabbed one the old books from the book shelf, Sat down on the couch and hinted for me to come and lie down on his lap. I complied, with my legs up on the couch and my head nestled in his lap, he opened the book and started to read it to me. "Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene. From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean..." His voice suddenly made Romeo and Juliet sound so much more beautiful than before. I could listen to him read to me every day. I lay intently listening to his voice and how the words sounded so smooth. His voice was lulling me to sleep.
"But soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun!.." As he read one of the most famous lines from Act II, Scene II, my heart began to beat faster. I could not believe how much his voice suited that of a Shakespeare play. I listened contently as my eyes slowly closed, taking in the relaxing tone of his voice. He noticed me falling asleep so he continued reading, his voice getting quieter as the pages turned.
"Pet? Wake up" I felt Loki nudge me. I opened my eyes and he was looking down at me on his lap. "Do you want to go to bed? We have a big day tomorrow pet" Loki softly spoke as he stroked my hair. I nodded gently rubbing my eyes. He picked me up and stood me on my feet. "I shall let you change darling, while I go and have a quick word with my father" He smiled "You can pick out any of the nightwear from that drawer there" He pointed to the top drawer by the bed before he opened the door and went to speak to his father. The door gently closed and then I began to change.
There were so many options to pick from. I found a beautiful green silk night dress. I smiled to myself, took it out of the drawer and went to the en-suite to change. I admired myself in the mirror and I couldn't see what Loki found so attractive in me. I placed my asgardian robes in the drawers and went over to the bed. I climbed under the sheets and lay down waiting for Loki to come back to his room.
I heard the doors open. "Sorry pet, that took longer than I imagined" Loki said as he came over and joined me, whilst magically changing his clothes. "It's okay Loki" I smiled weakly from tiredness. "We are going to have an amazing day tomorrow" He smiled as he kissed my forehead. We lay just looking into each others eyes for a while. "Loki, why me?" I asked. I wanted to know why he thought I was the one. I felt ugly and I couldn't see what he saw in me. "Why would you ask that pet?" He frowned. He lifted himself up and leant on the bed with his elbow. "I just.. I don't know what you see in me" I said as I looked downwards shedding a tear. I felt his thumb caress my cheek, wiping away my tear. "Oh, my sweet pet. Don't cry. You are beautiful. No matter how you see yourself or anyone else sees you, to me you are beautiful. You are divine. So please, Dry those beautiful eyes, and come and cuddle up to me" He held his arm out for me to lie on his chest. His heartbeat was soothing. Somehow I was calming down so quick.
Soon enough, my eyes closed and I fell asleep...
