To Accept or to Reject, I Face My Fate
Why? Why? Why is that person a boy? Why is that person human?
Questions about him have been filling my mind. These past few days since I saw him, my wolf has been urging me to search after him. To meet him. But at the same time, I don't want to. I can't. My mate can't be a human boy.
Oh, Moon Goddess, why did you give me this kind of fate? Why can't you give me any normal female werewolf as my mate?"Dan, dinner!" I could hear my brother calling me in my mind.
"We are going to run today right? Let's have a race!" I could hear Jeremy, my Beta, said.
The rest of my friends cheered upon Jeremy's idea.
The perks of being a werewolf is that we could link our thoughts into each other inside the pack. My head is always loud and noisy.Slowly, I got up from my bed and left my room. Climbing down the stairs, I headed towards the pack house's dining room which was already filled with people.
Food was served in the buffet and everyone could take as much as they wanted. We needed a huge chunk of protein to practice everyday.
"Dan, here!" Jeremy called me. With a plate in my hand, I approached the table that was packed with my friends.
"You sick? You eat so little," Sam, my other friends said.
I put my plate on the table. It was full of food, but if you compare it with others who always eat at least two plates it can look so little.
"Nah, I just don't want to be too full before our run," I said.
"More calories equals more energy. I'm going to beat you on the run tonight," Marvin said. He's my younger brother. Aside from Jeremy, he's the one who could keep up with my pace.
"You wish," I chuckled and ruffled his hair.
The dinner is always loud. People talk whatever is in their mind. It's very crowded and cheerful."By the way, do you hear that Freddy finally found his mate?" Sam suddenly opens a new topic.
"Really? Who?" Jeremy asked curiously.
"He went to a party at a local club and coincidentally met her. A werewolf from Blue Moon Pack," Sam said. "I should have joined the party, too."
"For sure, I'm telling Dania about that," a girl suddenly joined us. I made a room for her and he slipped in between me and Jeremy. She's our childhood friend, and also Jeremy's mate. As soon as she sat down, Jeremy wrapped his hand around her shoulder.
"Judith! I'm just trying to socialize you know... Making new friends," Sam said.
"Yeah but you've already got your mate!" Judith reminded him.
"Judith. Will you join us tonight?" Marvin asked.
"Of course I will! I'm going to beat you all," she said with confidence.
"And I will definitely catch you," Jeremy said, pulling her to his embrace and giving her a kiss.Everyone around whistled at them. Cheering and teasing this young lover.
I joined the laugh. Surrounded by my friends is always fun. I'm happy for all of them who've found their fated one.
Yet, at the same time, it made my mind wander. Towards the boy who sat at the middle bench. His auburn hair, his smiling face. The faint scent of wood and musk. The scent that seems familiar.
I wish I could meet him...NO!
Dan, snap the hell out of it!
I tried to forget that boy. The boy who was supposed to be my mate. I should not accept that. I'm an Alpha son. I will inherit the Alpha title and lead this pack. I could not have a human boy as my Luna.
I should not! I could not! I... I want to see him."Let's go, guys!" Sam's call disrupted my thought.
I saw everyone start leaving their table and head towards the field. Trying to erase him, I stood up and joined them..
The night wind brushing through my body.
I ran and ran, letting my wolf take control. I could hear Marvin and Jeremy's feet closely behind, while the rest were still a few meters behind. Running through the woods is the easiest thing to distract myself. With my sight and ears becoming sharper, the world looks full, crowded, and beautiful. I ran faster.
