One last time, I'll love you forever
"Daniel!" I jumped and hugged him. It's been a week since the last time I saw him.
I was hospitalized for four days. My seasonal cold lasts longer than usual. I knew something happened at that time. I remembered some men suddenly appeared in my bedroom and took me away. I remembered getting dragged into a car as they drove away. But... Everything was blurry. My headache at that time was too severe and I was just too sick to stay conscious.
The next time I woke up, I was in hospital with mom beside me. She told me that Rey and Gina took me here as my fever worsened. It seems that they didn't tell mom the truth. Does it have anything to do with their job?
Well, I don't know. I was just glad everything went smoothly.Daniel visited me once after I woke up. He looked very concerned and relieved when he saw me. I told him I'm okay. I asked him about what happened. He told me I was kidnapped, then Rey and Gina saved me. So, I guess, it really had something to do with them being hunters.
After that, he said he would not be able to go into town as he had some matters to handle with his pack. We texted each other everyday. Still, nothing can replace the warmth I feel whenever I meet and touch him. I long for him.
"How do you feel today?" Daniel asked.
I looked at him. "I'm fine. Rey and Gina finally allowed me to return to school yesterday," I said. "Do they realise it would affect my credits if I stay out for too long?"
Daniel chuckled. "It's better to rest for a few days," he said.
I shrugged and then held his hand as we walked on our date this weekend. We visited a cafe and had some food there. Sitting for hours after finishing our food, just enjoying the drink and talking about random things. After we finished our drink, we started strolling around the market. I asked Dan to help me shop for some art materials and reference books that I need for a school project. He even helped me carry the bags.
We talked and strolled for another hour. The time passed quickly and it was already four in the evening when Daniel invited me to sit in the park. We strolled the walking track, seeing many people who were also enjoying the evening. People were enjoying their activities, reading books, having picnics, or simply exercising. The weather had started to become warmer and it was a perfect place to spend a lazy weekend.
"Let's sit there," Daniel said, pointing at the bench under a tree. I nodded and we headed there while holding hands. We sat and stayed there in silence as I leaned on him and rested my head on his shoulder. There was no awkwardness or the need to converse now. We simply enjoyed each other's company.
"Ren, I have to tell you something," Daniel broke the silence. Without looking at him, I simply answered, "Sure, what's up?"
There was a long silence. Letting some runners jog past us.
"We should stop seeing each other."
I looked at him, didn't believe in what I just heard. Daniel still stared at the park, didn't bother to look at me.
"What?""I don't think this relationship could work. I have my responsibility as the next Alpha. I can't have you as my mate," he talked too fast. He closed his eyes. Still didn't look at me.
It felt like there's a hammer getting pounded to my chest. My heartbeat rose. I started to feel very anxious. I felt cold sweat forming at the back of my neck. It was too sudden, I was so confused. "This isn't funny... Daniel?"
Daniel opens his eyes, finally looking at me. I can only see emptiness and coldness on it. It was only a few moments ago that it was filled with warmth. Now, it is all gone.
