That day I lost you, That day I remember

It hurts!

It felt like a thousand blades were piercing me. My body was shattered. My soul was torn apart. The pain was too much. Please make it stop!

.

Bang!

The loud noise filled the room.
The gun in my hand just shot its last bullet, piercing through the back head of someone that I pinned down with my foot. Blood started to pour from his head, soaking the carpet red. I smiled. With this, I had avenged their death. My family, my friends, my country, my people.

Only the emptiness lingers. The dead would not come back alive. Now I have to live in this world. Alone, paying up my sins.

.

The moons shine brightly. The sky was drenched in purple and the stars filled the sky this evening. If time could stop, this would be the best scenery I ever had. But I know, the crumbled planet that is getting closer each second would crush this place in two days.

The last ship just took off a few hours ago. I sent it away and now I walked back home. Passing through the abandoned settlement, towards the only house that still has its light on. Turning the door, entering my home. My assistant greeted me with it's monotonous synthesis voice, telling me the weather for today. I chuckled, I asked him to make me a drink. On the balcony, I sat down, writing the last entry for this planet. The world is dying and I spend my last day with my soulless friend.

.

I muttered a spell. A seconds later, multiple ice spears formed out of thin air, pointing towards my enemy. We smiled at each other, both feeling pumped up from finally facing a strong opponent. With a flick of my finger, the spears stormed at the enemy who used fire magic to block it down.

We clashed and clashed and clashed. Throwing one spell after the other, ignoring how much magic we used. We just felt excited. The distance between us became closer, we threw an even larger spell, ignoring the effect towards the surrounding. What was once a long range distance combat, becomes hand-to-hand combat. While still using powerful magic, ignoring the impact on our own body.

We hurt each other, smiling, laughing like crazy. We moved by desire, to keep this fun to last forever. The last blow and my hand reach the enemy's neck. At the same time, I noticed a hand on my chest. We smiled at each other, muttering our final spells with every bit of magic that we had left. My enemy started to freeze and shattered to pieces, while I was burning down to ashes.

.

I sat at a hospital bed. Looking out of the window. It was a single private room, filled with machines that monitor my condition. I picked my phone from the side table. I realised how thin my arm had become. Chuckling a bit, I know I don't have much time left. Then, looking at my phone, I was glad that the nurses kept my request to always make sure my phone was charged. Two messages in. I hurriedly opened it, hoping for a certain someone... just to be left disappointed. It was just from my former company, asking me to help with several documents.

I gave a long sigh, feeling tired. It was not worth continuing here. I thought I got a second chance, but this is just worse. My body felt heavy. I leaned back to the pillow and stared through the window. Snow slowly fell, the first one of this year. Slowly, I closed my eyes. In the distance, the beeping sound that monitored my heart grew slower and slower. Until it became still.

.

I opened my eyes.

I was in the hospital. With an IV drop in my left hand. I heard beeping sounds from the heart monitor that was attached to me. I sat up, trying to observe my surroundings. My head was throbbing. From all the memories that came without warning. Everything returned one after the other. All the knowledge, all the experiences, all my lives. I clenched my hands, trying to subdue the pain.
