ONCE THEY HAD arrived at hogwarts after the awful carriage ride that had felt like it lasted for ever considering Noa and Fred wouldn't shut up.
Noa, Nesrin, Otis, George and Fred had parted ways with the twins heading to the Gryffindor table and sitting down beside their friend Lee Jordan whom Otis fancies the pants off of, Nesrin and Otis heading to the Hufflepuff table and Noa grudgingly making her way to the slytherin table and grumbling about how much she can't stand anyone from her house.
Nesrin and Otis sat at their usual seats in the great hall which was near the end of the long oak table as the sorting ceremony began.
Otis and Nesrin where sitting looking bored as Professor McGonagall called up one of the last few first years "Winchester, Holly".
"Recon she's another bloody Ravenclaw?" asked Nesrin.
Otis hummed "Two sickles she's a Hufflepuff".
"Right, your on but i'm still placing bets on Ravenclaw" replied Nesrin.
they both sat and watched as the sorting hat took its time in deciding.
"RAVENCLAW" shouted the sorting hat making the Ravenclaw table start clapping and cheering.
Otis groaned and said "bloody hell, why are you so good at that? every bloody year!"
Nesrin smirked "I shall never reveal that" "Now pay up loser, we haven't got all day".
Otis grudgingly stuck his hand into his Robes pocket and digged out two sickles and shoved them in Nesrin's outstretched hand and slammed his head on the oak table dramatically.
As Dumbledore Got up to begin is speech Nesrin shot a reassuring look to her father who was sitting at the professors table.
"Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts." started Professor Dumbledore Catching the attention of the great hall.
"Now, I'd like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, professor." and Remus Stood up and Waved, everyone in hall clapped and Nesrin smiles widely as Otis whooped.
"Our Care of Magical Creatures teacher has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I'm delighted to announce that his place will be taken by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid." clapping and whooping filled the great hall by mainly the Gryffindor table.
"Finally, on a more disquieting note at the request of the Ministry of Magic Hogwarts will, until further notice, play host to the dementors of Azkaban until such a time as Sirius Black is captured." Nesrin gulped and looked at Otis who grabbed Nesrin's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze as the whole of the great hall broke out into whispering and glancing at Nesrin.
The hall quieted down as dumbledore started saying "The dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I've been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities a word of caution"
"Dementors are vicious creatures. They'll not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore, I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you." warned Dumbledore.
"It is not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving. But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light."
After telling the first years the usual rules Dumbledore finished and added "Now you all may be off to bed" and everyone in the great hall began to leave.
Noa rejoined Nesrin and Otis as they exited the hall after Nesrin said a quick goodnight to her father Noa said "Bloody dementors! Is Dumbledore mentally deficient or something, like surely that's unnecessary!" as they started heading to their common rooms for the night.
"Looks like it, Like what would Sirius Black want to come to Hogwarts for?" said Nesrin.
"I mean i don't want to worry you Nes but maybe they are worried that he will come looking for you." Otis said warily.
"I mean yeah, you are his daughter Nes" added Noa.
"I get that but what in Helga's name would he want me for? like i've not really got much to offer a bloody murderer! i would be a terrible sidekick." Nesrin said looking between Noa and Otis as they both snorted.
Noa shrugged and said "No clue Nes but i'll see you both tomorrow, yeah? night you wankers!"
"Night you slag!" shouted Nesrin and Otis at the same time.
As Otis and Nesrin reached the cosy Hufflepuff common room they both said their goodnights and both headed off to their respected dorm rooms.
As Nesrin entered her dorm room of 5 years she was met with her usual dorm mates.
Georgia Jamieson Pureblood, Emily Scott halfblood (who Nesrin strongly dislikes) and Sofia Jacobs muggleborn.
"Hey guys" greeted Nesrin with a smile.
"Hey Nes!" they all said simultaneously but of course apart from Emily.
"How was your summer?" asked Sofia.
"It was alright!" smiled Nesrin and added "what about you guys?"
"Mine was Pretty boring, just stayed at home this year because mum was quite busy working." shrugged Georgia.
"I went to Spain for 3 weeks and then Australia for 2 weeks, it was a lot of fun!" excitedly said Sofia.
"I went to scotland for a month, we went to a zoo and they a bit with these ugly looking bugs, i think you'd really fit in there Lupin" barked Emily from her place on her bed.
"Is that really the worst insult you've got Scott? pathetic if you ask me" resorts back Nesrin crossing her arms over her chest and Emily scoffed gathering her pyjamas and going into the bathroom and Nesrin just snickered.
"Well anyways we should all probably get ready for bed, since we have classes tomorrow" said Sofia awkwardly.
"yeah your right" sighed Georgia then added "You looking forward to your dad teaching DA Nes?"
"Yeah kind of, it'll be nice to see him more." Georgia nodded.
Once Emily exited the bathroom in her pyjamas and ready for bed Nesrin went in next and got ready for bed.
Once Nesrin climbed into bed she grabbed her Pride and Prejudice book and started reading where she left off the previous night while occasionally chatting to the girls until her eyelids felt heavy and she fell into deep sleep.
