Lillie's Partner

Ash and Lillie were now headed back toward Mele-Mele Island, for their small break was over, and they needed to head back. Ash was in deep thought, as he stood on the deck, looking away into the ocean, while his ferry approached Mele-Mele island. His jacket blew backward and fluttered in the wind, taking the appearance of a cape. He then turned to his left to see his Pikachu, also in deep thought. " Over my journey in Kalos, I have used the bond phenomenon, but it has never grown as strong as Pikachu's. Also, this power seems extremely addictive.... I might need to contact Kahuna Hala for advice." Ash thought, still looking away into the ocean, and his best buddy doing the same. Lillie came onto the deck, looking for him. " Hey Ash, what are you thinking about?" Lillie asked, noticing Ash's thoughtful face. "You remember my battle against Olivia?" Ash asked. "Yeah, also , that point where even you transformed along with Pikachu did look cool, but also scary to me at the same time. " Lillie answered, remembering Ash's look when he had transformed. all of a sudden, a robotic arm came out of pretty much nowhere and grabbed Pikachu. Ash looked up to see the Team Rocket trio, or a.k.a, the TRio. People ran helter-skelter as they saw a large balloon loom above them. Ash then noticed one thing. The sky was dark and thunder was rumbling. "Pikachu, Fire as much positive charge around yourself" Ash said, smirking. He then bond evolved Pikachu, much to the TRio's surprise. "Oh, so the twerp has unlocked that thing he can do with Greninja? The boss is going to reward us for this!" Jessie said. "Hey twerp! that thunderbolt ain't gonna do nothing to us! this has been tested against each and every Pokemon attack in existence by the boss himself!" Meowth shouted out. Ash smirked. The process was complete as he saw a little bit of electrical discharge appearing in the sky. " Your arm may have withstood every Pokemon attack, but has it ever gone ahead and stood up against the force of nature?" Ash said, now grinning. "No, but how does it matter?" James said, clearly irritated. " If not, then get ready to one, lose Pikachu, and two, get electrocuted by lighting!" Ash said, snapping his fingers and then giving out his evil laugh as the TRio was steamrolled by the lighting strike. Ash then saw Pikachu come back down onto the ship's deck, as the robotic claw was overloaded with electricity, and blew up. Ash then decided to tell the three what he had done. " Science lesson! Lightning is a discharge of negative charges! Since I released Positive charges here, negative charges were attracted by the positive one! and thus, it is how I gave Pikachu a power-up, while also steamrolling you three! And so, presenting, Pikachu's Thunderbolt!" Ash said as Pikachu also gave a small greeting and a bow. He then charged up his electricity, and then shot it toward the TRio. They then flew into the air, when Ash remembered something. "Hey! next time we meet, remember to give your intro! you forgot it this time!" Ash said, sarcasm evident in his  voice. It had then begun raining, and so, everyone went inside. "Hey Ash, how did you manage to do that?" Lillie said, as they settled into their room. "I used Pikachu's power and the power of nature. hopefully the Alola battlefields will also be open roof, so that I can use this technique when thunderstorm clouds are above." Ash said, leaving Lillie clearly impressed. "You know, I think it's better if you get yourself a partner Pokemon. It is a good idea. I won't be around you always, handling situations like this" Ash said. "Hmm.... I'll see" Lillie said, knowing that she had gotten over her Pokephobia. 

*Timeskip to end of voyage*

Ash and Lillie got off the ship, and headed over to the path that led them to the school. However, they had unfortunately taken the wrong turn, and headed into a dead end. however, what was worse was that a Bewear was waiting for them. "Whoopsie, wrong turn" Lillie said, nervously, while Ash stayed calm. The Bewear, however, wasn't going to let his prey run off easily. It started running at breakneck speed toward Ash and Lillie. Lillie screamed as she took cover behind Ash. " Wrong choice, Sucker!" Ash said, as Pikachu understood what he meant. He fired off his the most powerful thunderbolt, causing Bewear to pretty much fly backward. Ash gave a 'Hmph' of satisfaction as Bewear hit a tree, knocked it down, and then went down himself. Lillie emerged from behind him, still wearing her scared look. " Calm down, Lillie. Also, I remember this forest, so we can go straight through here" Ash said. They began walking through the forest when all of a sudden, they heard a small squeal to their left. they instantly hid in the bushes, to find Pokemon Poachers(Again), now cornering a white Vulpix. "Pikachu, do what you have to do" Ash says, tired with the Poachers. Pikachu understood and let out a thunderbolt, which split into six, knocking out all the poachers. "Vul!" The Vulpix gave out a cry, now scared that a new, and far more powerful Pokemon was in its proximity, ready to strike. It expected something like an electivire to come out, but it instead found Pikachu, the one and only. Ash and Lillie then emerged from the bushes, Ash wearing a smug look, glancing at all the poachers. " That should keep them in a coma for a week or so.." Ash said, surprising Lillie. Lillie then gave an angry glance at him. "What? They deserved it" Ash said, still wearing his smug expression. Lillie then just headed over to Vulpix, who seemed to have calmed down a bit. she bent down, and was about to touch it, but hesitated. "Go on, you've gotten over it" Ash said, encouragingly as his hyperactive partner climbed onto his head. Lillie then went ahead and put petted the Alolan Vulpix on its head, and it cooed with pleasure. "You sure do like it, don't you?" She said, as the Vulpix slightly nodded. Ash then tossed a Poke ball, which landed beside Lillie. "Go on, catch it and make her your partner! Just ask if she wants to come first" Ash said, assuming that the Vulpix was a female. Lillie did as told, and then gently tapped the poke ball on the Vulpix's forehead. Vulpix was absorbed into the ball, as it rolled gently on the ground, after which a small ding was heard. "Well then, I just caught my first Pokemon!" Lillie said, as Ash congratulated her. However, Vulpix emerged from her Poke ball, and then shook herself, as if she were uncomfortable. "I guess Vulpix doesn't like it in there either. What is it with Pokemon not liking it inside the compact spaces designed for them? First Pikachu, then Riolu, and now Vulpix?" Ash said, confused. "Nevermind, let's just go" Lillie said, as they headed off toward the school. They crossed the barrier that led them into the grounds, As more students headed in, a loud yell was heard as a newcomer came in. just by looking at him, you could probably tell that he was a spoilt brat. "Who's the strongest trainer of this school?" He asked as Ash went ahead, expecting a challenge. "I asked for the strongest trainer, not someone with no fully evolved Pokemon. That Riolu on your shoulder is so weak! and that Pikachu? Don't even talk about it. A touch by my Ursaring and he's already out." The guy said, not even caring to introduce himself. Ash smirked. The smirk turned into a grin. He chuckled. Finally, he couldn't contain his laughter and started laughing hysterically. "Whatcha laughing at, kid! I just called you weak!" The newcomer said, now confused and angry. " You know what? let's have a battle! Then let's see who's weak." Ash said, heading to the battlefield, the newcomer in tow. "Heh, I'm going to wipe the floor with this guy" the newcomer thought. 

*At battlefield*

"This is an unofficial battle between Ash Ketchum and uhh...." The referee trailed off, giving the boy a cue to introduce himself. but he was instead told to just continue.  "Trainers, please bring out your Pokemon!" The referee shouted. "Pikachu, I choose you!" Ash said, giving his classic dialogue. "Conkeldurr, come on out!" The other trainer said, as the humanoid Pokemon came out. "Battle begin!" The referee shouted as the other trainer took command. "Conkeldurr, Stone edge!" He said, as his Conkeldurr slammed down his stones, as a series of rocks rose from the ground. "Pikachu, Quick attack!" Ash countered, as Pikachu slalomed through the stone edge. " Hyper beam, Go!" Ash saw his opportunity. "How are you going to get out of this one? your Pikachu is too close to dodge" the trainer said, wearing a smug look. Ash could barely hold his excitement of seeing the smug look getting knocked right off the brat's face. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash yelled. " That thunderbolt is no match for my hyper beam. You've already lost this ma-" He was about to say when Pikachu's thunderbolt simply deactivated the hyper beam and continued at full power as if nothing happened. It hit Conkeldurr straight in the face, knocking him out. "And so, you are the third person to witness the power of my yellow tank" Ash said, smirking at the nickname for Pikachu. " Conkeldurr is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" The referee said, as Pikachu returned to Ash. The other trainer returned Conkeldurr and revealed his next Pokemon, Togedemaru. "Now this is my white tank, let's see how you face off against him." The other trainer said, as Ash chuckled, talking about 'another weak Pikachu ripoff' as he returned Pikachu and brought out Riolu. "Battle begin!" the referee shouted, as both trainers began. "Thundershock!" Togedemaru let ot something that resembled a thunderbolt, but was still incredibly weak. " Riolu, take it" Ash said, as Riolu took some damage. This continued for a while until riolu was down to his final stand. Just when things were looking bad, Ash shouted"Riolu, reversal!" As Riolu charged up his orange fist, and slammed it into  Togedemaru. And let's just say that Togedemaru was knocked out. both literally and out of the stadium. Ash just grinned at his easy victory. "Let's go, Lucario" Ash said, as Lucario walked alongside him. However, Pikachu started receiving discharges of electricity, seemingly coming from a Pokemon. These discharges represented distress. "Pika?" Pikachu let out a small bit of electricity, as he received the electrical distress signal. But he ignored it and went on. All the students walked up to their respective classes and sat down. Pikachu was now receiving even stronger electrical distress signals. but then the distress signal turned into anger........

AND THAT WAS WHEN ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE

*Freeze Frame*

Lillie has found herself a new partner, and Ash has only reinforced his title as a champion.... However, Pikachu has received electrical distress signals from mysterious Pokemon. What holds in the future of our protagonists? Read on to find out as the journey continues!

A/N: I know that this chapter felt more like a filler, but I wanted to keep the heat of events down for a while. The next chapter will probably be the best one in this book, until now. Again, no spoilers for you. Also, my exams are over, so updates will be regular again. Cya in the next chapter
