Bucky had left early in the morning to get started on his chores. After an hour of tidying up any bothersome mess in the hut, you decided to take a stroll around Wakanda. On your way to the palace, you passed small pop-up stands that were selling goats and fruit.
Everything there seemed magical. The way science had progressed never failed to amaze you. You learned that a lot of their tech and clothes were made of the same metal. Steve had told you a story about Vibranium a few years ago. He explained how his shield was made from it.
"You're Y/n, right?" A woman approached you. You recognized her instantly. She was the same girl who stood by T'Challa the day you arrived.
"Yep thats me," you greeted dryly. Over the years the emotion had drained from your voice so it was rare not to sound like a bitch.
"I'm Shuri, I have something for you. Follow me." She smiled. You quickly followed behind Shuri who was speed-walking. She pushed through the front gate of the palace and down a long corridor that lead to what looked like lab.
"This is my lab, these are kimono beads." She told you and placed a bracelet on your wrist with black beads. Each bead had a silver etching in them.
"What do they do?" You asked as you adjusted some of the beads to flip upwards.
"It's a communication device. You can call T'Challa, Okoye, or me if theres ever an emergency." She explained.
"Who is Okoye?" You inquired.
"The fiercest warrior here, you'll love her!" She assured you.
"Oh ok..so whats it like in your lab?" You questioned, examining the equipment and paintings around you.
"Would you like to stay and find out?" She suggested.
"Oh I can't I have to get back to Bucky," you reminded her of your job.
"It's ok, he'll be here soon anyway," she informed you.
"Ok, lets get to work then," you chuckled nervously. Shuri introduced you to all her equipment and showed you each lab tables designated purpose. She explained how Vibranium benefitted her scientific breakthroughs.
"Right now, I'm working on a new Black Panther suit. But I can't seem to get the Vibranium to work with kinetic energy," she told you.
"Just created pressure points and storage for them on the most common spots he gets hit." You proposed.
"That's brilliant!" She exclaimed. She pulled up a screen that projected a blueprint image of the suit and the suits necklace. She swiped the fabric away and began designing storage units for kinetic energy.
She designed them like pouches with a thin exterior so when they became to full with energy they would burst and disperse the force back to the attacker.
"Knock, knock." You heard a familiar call from the entrance of the lab.
"Just on time, c'mon sit." Shuri pulled Bucky's single arm and sat him down on the raised cot.
"Alright, Y/n I'm gonna work on the suit. You work on this broken white boy." Shuri yanked you over to her and Bucky.
"What do I do??" You asked frantically.
"This is a quantum field generator. Just look for anything with the Winter Solider signature and destroy it." She explained and demonstrated. You nodded and began your work.
"So whats prison like?" Bucky attempted to make conversation as you swiped away Winter Solider programming.
"Violent, um extremely tedious. Its hard sharing a space with more than one person," you laughed.
