You couldn't mask your reaction. Professor Hulk shoveled food into his mouth making slurping noises. You were disgusted but intrigued. Before visiting Bruce, Steve had picked Natasha up. You sat beside her, mere inches under the firey top of her head. Though the two of you had conflict in the past there was still a mutal admiration. You admired her courage and she admired your strength.
"I'm confused." Scott finally spoke for the group.
"These are confusing times," Hulk replied with food in his mouth.
"No, that's not what I meant-"
"I'm kidding, I get it. It's crazy! I wear shirts now!" Bruce exclaimed.
"But why?" Scott pried, trying to piece together what he had missed in the five years he was floating in the Quantam Realm.
"Five years ago, we got our asses kicked, right?" Bruce asked to confirm that Scott was caught up.
"Nobody blames you, Bruce." Natasha assured him.
"I did," he replied, "for years I've been treating the hulk like he's some kind of disease, something to get rid of. But then I started looking at him as the cure."
"So you put the brains and the brawn together?" You asked. He nodded excitedly. Before anyone could speak again, two younger kids approached the table nervously. They requested a photo which Hulk gladly provided after some hassle with Scott.

The time travel attempt was a bust. Although you didn't care much for most the Avengers, you had a soft spot for Scott. When he came back as a baby you were slightly concerned. Nat took notice and gave you a reassuring look.
"I need a break." Steve escaped to the outside. You were an observer, you watched Tony's car pull up. Nobody else noticed.
While Tony and Steve spoke you watched the rest of the room. Natasha retreated to the kitchen to slice up orange slices for Scott. Bruce was messing with the machines and Scott ran to bathroom to change.
"Are you ready to get him back?" Nat sat down next to you, holding out the bowl of orange slices. You took one a ate it quickly, preparing your answer.
"How are we sure this will work?" You asked her. You had no hope. Only a silly daydream which you weren't naive enough to chase.
"It will work, because I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't." She squeezed your hand.
"You know I've been keeping his gun and his phone in my closet for these five years." You told her. Her face melted into a new level of sympathy.
"Do you still talk to him?" She wondered. You nodded thinking back to the messages you sent every morning. Sometimes you would have nightmares. It had been so long that you had lost his voice. He would just stare at you with his beautiful eyes until the dream ended.
"Ok we definitely need to get him back. I'm not used to you being vulnerable with me," she joked to lighten the mood. Her attempt worked, earning a awkard chuckle from you.
"I'm here dears!" Tony announced his presence.
"Goody," you reply sarcastically.
