Heathers POV
I came home late. Just a small murder of douche bag in an alleyway. I washed my shoes and wiped the blood of my shirt before I came inside. Zill was curled up in a ball on the couch. "Hey baby I'm home" I said. "You took to long" she whined. I sat next to her and pulled her into me. "I'm sorry. I just had to work late" I said. "I hate when you work late" she huffed. "I know" I said. She leaned into my chest. We sat there for a bit. She pulled back and stared at me with worry and fear. "You smell like blood" she said. "What?" I asked. "Why do you smell like blood?" she asked. I lifted my shirt to my nose and sniffed it, playing dumb. "Oh... I don't know" I lied. "Go shower" she got up and walked away. "Crap." I mumbled.

Zill's POV
Its not the first time I've smelled something weird on her after she worked late. When Heather got in the shower, I went back to watching the news. Paws had killed someone tonight. My eyes widened as an idea came to my head. "It can't be." I mumbled. Paws is always out on nights that Heather works late. I shook my head and looked down. "No, it's not her." I told myself. I knew I was wrong though. I knew it was her. I suddenly became very afraid, and left before she got out of the shower.

I flew to the docks. The sun was going down. It was a beautiful sunset. I heard a zip line and turned around. "Gold?" I asked, confused. "Hey Zill. I was just doing a patrol and saw you. Since we haven't officially met, I figured Id say hi" she smiled. "Oh, well, its nice to meet you" I tried to smile back. "Is something wrong?" She noticed my tone. "My girlfriend is acting weird, and I think she might be paws" I admitted. "I doubt that just because your girlfriends acting weird that she's paws" she laughed. "But she's coming home late on the days that paws attacks and today she smelled like blood" I explained. "Oh..." she got concerned. There was a short silence. "Well if she is, then its not safe for you to be at her house. You're coming with me" she held out her hand. The light shining on her, made her look like an angel coming to save me. "Thank you Gold" I smiled lightly. "My names Regina" she said.

I went back with her. "You can sleep in my room tonight. Our spare room isn't exactly the cleanest right now" she said. "Ok" I chuckled. Heather texted me and I said I was staying with a friend. Gold called a meeting. "Ok guys this is Zill. She says that she may know who Paws is" she announced. "Now, ever since Weather Vane and Lighting unmasked, everyone is suspicious of Paws, so lets hope Zill is right" gold she added. All the arrows looked at me confused. "Her name is Heather, I have reason to believe that she might be Paws" I said. I'm trying so hard not to cry. The arrows agreed to take action right away and started making a plan.

The next night
Gold stood in front of an old warehouse. We were all there but I made myself and the other arrows invisible. "I know you keep watch on me Paws! Come out! I wanna talk" gold yelled. Paws flew down to her. "Wow gold. I never thought you would pick the warehouse where I killed my parents to come fight me" Paws said. She looked around. "Where's your arrows?" She asked. "They'll be here, but I want to know who you are" gold said. Paws laughed. "Not gonna happen" she said. "Why? Are you too shy to unmask? The other villains did it. Even us heroes did it" gold said. "I'm not like the other villains" Paws said. "I know. That's why Zill came to me" gold said. Paws raised her eyebrow and her breath hitched. "Why would Zill come to you?" she asked. "I think you know why... Heather" gold said. Paws aimed a fire ball at gold but I jumped in front of her and caught it. The arrows and I were revealed. "Zill?!" Paws exclaimed. "How could you do this Heather?" I snapped. "Do what? Follow my parents path for power? That's what I want Zill!" She yelled. "My dad failed in defeating your parents but I wont fail on you" I said. "You already did! You told them who I was!" She yelled. "You lied to me!" I yelled back. "I was trying to protect you" she said. "You cant protect me anymore Heather... we're done" I said. She was taken back. She took off her mask and sighed. "You're just gonna end it like that?" She asked, calmly. "Yeah" I said. "I really cared about you Zill... worst mistake I've ever made" she teleported away. I looked down. I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. Gold ran over and hugged me. "You did the right thing" she said. I pulled her closer to me. "Thank you for saving me" I said.

When we got back, I changed. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't watch tv or eat. Gold was worried about me. "Come here" she said. She laid down on her side of the bed and waved me over. I moved over to her. She pulled me into her embrace. "You're gonna be ok. It's ok to be upset. You don't have to worry Zill. We're all here for you." She assured me. I looked up at her. Even to this day, Gold is still the strongest woman I've ever met. And I'll never forget this moment when I fell in love with her.

...

"We actually started dating not long after that." Zill recalled. "Yeah it really stung." Heather said. "Yeah, no one doubts how much you love Gold." I said. "Actually Kat, you'd be surprised. Gold herself doubted it for a minute." Zill said. "Yeah, and by that time, I was already engaged." Heather said. "Ooh! Tell me that story." I said. "Hold on for a minute. The arrows didn't give you everything. There were some other things they left out." Zill said.
