Chapter 17- Truth hurts

Taehyung's POV:

"It's Jeon Y/d/n" Jimin spoke 

"What!?" I yelled

"It's Y/n's dad" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Did she really back stab me? All this, her love for me, her help, everything was just an act? Is she really behind all these? What Jae-hyun said before dying, was that true? Was it all just a lie? My mind was preoccupied with these thoughts when Jimin said,

"Taehyung, don't jump into any conclusion. Let's go to the Law Firm and we'll ask her on her own. What if she's not the one behind all this?"

"Then who else is left!?"

"Jeon Jungkook"

[Time skip: Jeon Law Firm]

Tomorrow was the court's hearing. I hope, we have enough evidence to prove Han Group is guilty. My eyes went upon the new displayed on the TV

Chairman Han Ji-hun transferred to the nearest hospital after he was found unconscious in his bedroom. They security guards were also claimed to be beaten harshly yet they managed to call an ambulance and inform the police

A smirk crept on my face, as I knew it had something to do with Taehyung. Just when I was about to go to my room, someone knocked on the door. I opened the door revealing Taehyung and Jimin

"Taehyung-"

"You were behind all this right!? Is this what you wanted!? First trick me and make me fall for you and then back stab me right!?" he yelled shaking me

"Taehyung I don't-t know what you're-e talking about-t" I tried my best not to cry

"Stop lying you are behind all this right? You are-" we were interrupted when we heard a voice from behind. Turning around we found Jungkook. The next thing he said left us in complete shock,

"She has nothing to do with this. It's me whose behind all this. I'm the second heir of Han Group"

"What do you mean?" we all said in sync. Quiet shocked. As much as I wanted to help Taehyung, I wanted whatever Jungkook is saying to be wrong, who wouldn't be shocked after finding that their own family member is behind this!?

"I, Jeon Jungkook, is the second heir of Han Group"

"But as per as the information I have, if your mother was sexually abused and you were born, but she died right after giving your birth, and if Y/n is your younger sister, then how was she born? Who is she then?" Jimin asked while I looked at Taehyung who had a similar kind of expression. It means, I'm not an actual Jeon?

"She's not my real sister" I felt like my world shattered into millions of pieces. I had so many questions in my mind but not an answer to any single of them

"After my mother passed, dad turned into an alcoholic. He started blaming himself for mother's death. When I turned 10, one day on our visit to the city hospital, that's when we first saw Y/n. She had an accident in which her real mother and father died and when you regained your senses, you didn't remember anything. Y/n was 7 back then, and after that accident, her childhood memories faded away like they never existed" Tears rolled down my eyes which each word Jungkook said. It's not that I was angry on them or something, I'm thankful, they gave me a better life but at the end, I'm not even a part of their family. Do I deserve all this?

Taking a step towards me, Jungkook caressed my cheeks saying,

"You know, after she woke up, when she heard the hospital staff saying that they'll sent her to an orphanage, she ran from her bed and hid behind me. That's when we decided to adopt her. Y/n was like a blessing to our family. After she came, my dad stopped drinking and started spending time with us.  She became a sister and a daughter which we never had. Everything was going well, until one day I found out, I'm also not an actual Jeon. I hated myself for having the blood of a person who killed my mother. Yes, truth hurts, a lot actually" Jungkook spoke as he hugged me

"It means you knew it all along? You were behind all this!? You killed me sister!?" Taehyung said in pure rage as we was about to take his gun out but I stopped him

"Taehyung-g please, he is my brother-r" I pleaded seeing which he stopped

"No, I didn't kill your sister. It was Han Group. It's just that I knew it all along"

"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked

"I and Han Ji-hun went to the same high-school and since then he's been always been on my list. I started bullying him for what his father had done and until now, I'm doing the same. I knew about all the illegal means Han group has been doing ever since but I had no evidence. That's why I pretended that I have evidence against Han Group which cause Ji-hun to do whatever I said. I pretended to be the real chairman and that's exactly what he believed, in reality I have been searching for evidence all along. Why do you think I stopped studying medical and chose to be a lawyer? Because I wanted to punish them for their deeds but I had no one to support me until you both came" Jungkook said

"It mean you've been..."

"Helping you guys all along? Yes, that's exactly what I've been doing"

"But how?" Jimin and Jungkook asked together

"WDN is a type of chemical which requires highly maintained place along with proper equipment to identify it's presence. You think it's possible to do such in this Law Firm? Taehyung and Jimin were the one to set the morgue on fire, but how were they able to do it without getting caught? because I was the one who had injected sedatives to the guards and a few doctors" Jungkook replied and we chuckled a bit

"But why did they kill my sister and those people?"

"They tested WDN on them but the side effects were too serious that they couldn't make it alive. In order to hide their crime, Han Group portrayed this as serial killings so that the police won't doubt them. I knew it was them but I didn't have enough evidence until now"

"What else evidence you have against them?" Jimin asked

"Nothing now, but I can get some"

"How?" we three asked in sync to which Jungkook chuckled

"I can easily go inside Han Group, make my way to CCTV room and access the footage of the experiment room where they used WDN on the victims, make a copy and hand it over to you after all, I'm the second heir"

"Woah! That's amazing. Let's go shall we?" I said cheerfully but Jungkook caught me by my wrist making me look at him

"Y/n, I'm sorry for hiding all this. Even if you are not my real sister, I love you more than I would even if you were my real sister. Just remember, I'm always here for you" he said and I nodded

"Y/n..." Jungkook said once again to which I hummed in response

"There's somewhere I want you to go...."
