A/n: This is just a best friend kind of chapter. No lovers or friends with benefits :]
RANDOM
IMAGINE
_______You kick the imaginary rocks as you walk to school, one strap of your bag over your shoulder. Your head held down as always.
It wasn't that you were scared or shy, you just preferred to not be bothered. You like it when you waste energy on nothing and yet still end up tired by the end of the day.
Your shoes scrap against the bumpy ground, the mini rocks scratching the bottoms of your shoe. Continuing the walk to school, your eyes finally lift up to find the familiar middle school you currently go to.
Yup, middle school, where young children from ages 11-13 enroll in to learn nonsense. Also may add, where children change.
Stepping up the small stairs laid in front of the school, your eyes catch a certain someone. Your eyes glisten in joy from the sight.
"Jennie!" You exclaim, your arms engulfing her into a bone-breaking hug.
"Y/n!" She exclaims, returning the hug with a plastered smile.
"Jennie!" You jump in her grasp.
"Y/n!" She does the same.
It wasn't a weird thing to continue the greeting. It came out as normal to you two to suddenly repeat yourselves. You both found it quite funny and you obviously didn't care if others didn't.
Jennie and you only shared a couple classes together and in one of those classes you had to present a project -a project you forgot to study.
And only god knows how much you hated those evil work sheets. You'd rather miss break than do one of them. Just thinking about it makes a shiver crawl down your spine.
"Y/n."
Your head shoot up to meet the teacher's eyes. Answering with your gaze and full grown attention, he continues.
"Why don't you present your small project here?" He holds up a computer drive you gave him a couple days yesterday and you felt absolutely betrayed.
Judging from the look on you face and the given situation, Jennie bites the inside of her cheek to suppress a laugh.
Considering you two have stayed up all night last night, face timing and fangirling over -well- girls, she knew well you didn't even give a glance at your index cards.
"Of course." You say, eyeing Jennie as you stood while the teacher puts your power point up.
It wasn't like you could say no nor could you run out the class. Once that 'question' came out the teacher's mouth, you've learned that you were considered doomed.
A smudge smile makes way to Jennie's lips, her head resting on the palm of her hand while her elbow supported her to look awake.
"So I did a project of the Roman Empire." God you hate history. "The first..." You stop, spotting Jennie sticking her tongue out at you.
The teacher stood at the back of the class, observing everyone's back instead of their faces. And from where you two sat, the board and teacher's desk was all you both saw -right in front of the class.
"The first emperor, or so called ruler..." You halt, Jennie crossing her eyes to try a new derpy look.
Don't laugh. Don't laugh. Don't laugh. You think over and over again, your gaze landing on the floor to avoid any further gut rumbling snickers.
"Or so called ruler was Augustus Caesar also known as Octavian. He reorganized Roman life..." You stare at Jennie's facial expressions, her tongue sticking out and her eyes crossing.
"Is there something bothering you?" The teacher asks making you flinch, realizing you've been staring for too long.
You surprisingly manage to make it out of class without directing any problems. Though a swift kick to the leg was all you've given her, she continued to whine like a baby.
Making way to lunch, after long hours of attempting to absorb worthless gibberish, you both come together to meet up after your separate classes.
Clearly it would be a the bleachers or the cafeteria, but with the 'Popular Kids' already taking up the space, you both decided the bathrooms would be nice.
Picking on the paint that seemingly peeled off the bathroom door frame, you didn't notice Jennie's presence behind you.
"Oh my god!" You jump, resting your hand on your heart -attempting to slow it down.
Jennie smirks, satisfied of her scare. "Did I scare you?"
You exhale a sigh, your eyes pleading no other people could see your murder. "No."
Jennie laughs, her hands clapping in amusement and her stomach bubbling up in content. "Yes I did! You look so pale right now."
You roll your eyes and lean against the wall, arms crossed and a brow raised. You patiently wait for her laughter to subside until you could talk again.
The brunette tries to catch her breath, her fingertips wiping her tears of joy. "Aah.. That was funny. Anyways -um.. I need to do something first. Mind if you wait out here for me?"
You nod with a calm smile that said 'I will totally not walk away'. She shakes her head and was about to head inside till a crinkle made an echo.
Grabbing her by the wrist, your eyes lit up at your thought. "Are you eating candy?"
A heavy blush glows on your best friend's chubby cheeks. She shakes her head. "No, I'm just-"
"Really?" You whine, sensing a clear lie straight through her. "I want some too!"
"No! I mean- It's not something to eat." Jennie pulls away from your hold but you return back with much more strength.
"Oh come on! Just one." You tug on her arm that stuffed itself inside her pockets.
"Y/n." She states, rather angry. Jennie attempts to pull away only to become unsuccessful. "Let go."
Both sharing a tug that later turned into endless pulls, you scrape up all your strength to whip her hands out of her pockets.
At first you expected a Twix or a small bag of skittles but no. The thought you had was now visibly erased from your mind, because a purple and pink colored pad was now planted on the floor.
Your gaze lands on it with alerted eyes. The humiliation must be the worst you've ever felt, because your red face gave a bit too much of a glow.
Eyes roaming elsewhere, it sweeps onto Jennie's eyes. Her cheeks leaked pink and her hands quivered in embarrassment. She froze for a moment, rethinking life, before looking up at you.
"Um.." You mumble, slowly walking towards it -your body still facing her.
Jennie was absolutely shut down in embarrassment, not being able to utter a word nor could she make a move.
Your hands reach down to quickly get ahold of the feminine product, receding it back within a speed of light.
Both of you couldn't even form such words. All you two could do was stare, and stare. The tension definitely subsided but the memory of it did not.
You slowly place it back in her pocket with a mumbled 'Sorry' before looking down at your fidgeting fingers.
"Jennie?" You call out and receive a mumble you didn't quite get.
"What?" She finally answers.
"Do you need.. anything?" You attempt to ask, your eyes looking up at her in forgiveness.
You knew how embarrassing this must've been for her. If she didn't want to tell you now, she for sure wasn't going to tell you about it in years. It was just like that.
You both respect each other's boundaries, but you guess today you felt a bit too comfortable to cross that line.
Jennie sighs and runs her hand through her hair. "I need you to go away-"
"Okay." You answer quickly, walking away to lunch.
