"Pillagers! Guards!" You heard a villager scream from the center of the village.

Punz would have to defend it, he was a guard. This bought you time.

You thought about it though for a minute. There couldn't be any way that he could take an entire raid that was powerful enough to reach the castle. You couldn't leave a village like your home to be destroyed.

You stepped towards the center to find a raid including two evokers, three ravagers, at least ten vindicators, and who knows how many pillagers. You could see why the raid had gotten to the castle.

You scoffed, looking for guards and spotting none at the aid just yet. Where were they? You sighed before slinking through the crowd of people, leaning further away from everyone, careful with the axe.

What enchantments did it even have, anyways? You glanced down at the sharpened blade for a split second before a cry of pain echoed out around the plaza.

Immediately, you raised your axe toward the nearest raider — a vindicator. You swung the heavy object onto the man's arm, nearly chopping it off. He cried out, backing away from you for a moment before raising his own weapon.

You wanted a fight, you were going to get one. You backed up, yelling at the citizens behind you to back up as well. They all quickly complied, either afraid of your capabilities or relieved that you were there to help.

The gray man swung his axe towards your face, and you reflexively ducked, hacking into his side with the diamond axe. He crumpled, falling dead almost instantly. One man down, and about fifty more to go.

Three pillagers quickly loaded their crossbows, aiming for you. You now realized that you were sweating, being out of practice would do that to someone immediately going back into battle. You dashed toward them, your axe at your side until you were right upon them, quickly raised above you.

One of the pillagers looked up at you, shocked. He dropped his crossbow and fell to his knees, whining something about 'the angel of death'. The adrenaline pumping in your ears prohibited your ability to hear him. God, this felt good.

You swung at the two threatening pillagers, completely chopping the first one's head off and going halfway through the second's. It was like they were made of butter, or something.

You drop down next to their bodies, looking up at the fear-stricken faces of the other raiders. The living pillager offered you his crossbow, yet again muttering some nonsense about the death angel.

You took it with a tight-lipped smile, muttering a thanks. Suddenly, footsteps echoed around you. Armour-clouted sound filled the air as the guardsmen filed out of the castle. What took them so long?

You spotted three familiar faces — one not actually a face at all, instead a mask with a crudely painted smile. You lock eyes with a particular blonde man, his frost colored eyes most shocked out of everyone's.

You grinned before standing and looking out at the raiders, all of which had changed expressions. They weren't shocked, now they were furious. A great change of moods.

Dream raised his fist, pointing forward. Every single guard charged forward, weapons raised. Punz walked toward you and the pillager who gave you his weapon, about to stab into him with his trident.

"Punz!" You quickly called, grabbing the man's shoulder. "No need, just keep him as a prisoner. He's harmless." Punz gave you a confused look before sighing. He muttered a quick 'whatever' before joining the rest of the guards.

You kneel down next to the shaking man. "Don't run, and nobody will hurt you. Sit over there." You point towards a few hay bales, helping him up.

You could hear him speaking now, the adrenaline wearing off. "Thank you for sparing me, almighty death angel." You shook your head at the title. You were no death angel, and frankly didn't even understand why he had referred to you as such. It was unseemly.

You looked back at the others as they began taking every raider down. It was nice to see how efficiently they worked, but you still couldn't help but feel proud of yourself. You took down three and a half raiders on your own, no one keeping the others at bay or anything.

You quickly took the crossbow out and aimed at a ravager, trying to avert its attention. Surprisingly, it worked, causing the large beast to look at you. You loaded the weapon again and fired the second arrow at the ravager, which charged towards you.

Let's just say that attacking something that large without a high vantage point had been stupid.

"Matthew! Stop! They are the death angel!" The pillager you had saved yelled.

The ravager — "Matthew" — stopped and looked at the gray man. It moved closer to you and bowed his head in respect before moving to the pillager and sitting, seemingly docile. You move closer and pat the beast's head. "I apologize for shooting you... Matthew"

The ravager grunted and rubbed his head against your hand, making you smile. When you turned back to where war had been raging, you spotted plenty of dead bodies surrounded by guards. "Well," you muttered with a laugh. "Looks like I should get going!"

Before you could go anywhere, though, Punz grabbed your arm and just stared at you for a moment. "You can't just run off... prisoner." He said, no emotion present in his frost colored eyes.

You furrowed your brows, glaring at him. "Oh, whatever, Punzie Wunzie." You said, sticking out your tongue.
