You don't know how you had fallen asleep or when, it had just happened. You opened your eyes to find Sapnap staring at you.

"Hello," he said, still maintaining eye contact like you would.

"Good morning." You respond, kindly returning the cold glare.

You stared at each other for what felt like seconds since time flies when you have constant eye contact.

"What are you guys even doing?" Punz asked as he came down the stairs to switch guards.

"Maintaining eye contact," you said, continuing to maintain eye contact.

"Yeah, I'm quite confused on how they can do it that long." Marlow said, leaning out of the bars. Matthew was snoring not far down the hall.

"Ok, well it's time for you two to stop. Come on Sapnap, I take it that you want breakfast." Punz said, dragging Sapnap away from the cell door. Neither of you broke eye contact.

"Sapnap! Come on!" Punz yelled, pulling Sapnap up off the ground. He finally broke it.

"Fine, you can maintain eye contact." Sapnap groaned, lugging himself down the hall.

"I'm sure I won't!" Punz yelled with a laugh, he then sat down right in front of you.

His eyes locked with yours. It was almost like he was looking for something in you... Perhaps a trace of your mood from yesterday? No, that would be odd.

"Can you two just get out already? Matthew really wants something to happen!" Marlow said, making both of you break eye contact.

Matthew sat right behind Punz slowly pushing him until his head was nearly touching the bars.

"Matthew! What are you doing?" You ask as Punz's eyes meet yours again. You noticed the slightly red color of the blonde's face before shrugging it off. It had nothing to do with attraction, only slight embarrassment.

The ravager grunted happily, making Marlow laugh like he knew exactly what Matthew had said. "He thinks Punz is taking too long." He states, a smile present on his gray face. "I personally agree, but that isn't the point."

You scoff, rolling your eyes at the two. Punz did the same but less exaggerated as you, which was a shock.

"Oh no, Mr. Drama Pants, are you alright? You weren't more dramatic than me for once!" You leaned forward, pressing the back of your hand to his forehead. "Are you sick or something?"

He moved back, glaring at you with an angry sigh. "I'm not dramatic. And if I am, at least I'm not petty like you."

You blink at the insult, not really caring about it. "I am petty, thanks." You reply, tilting your head with a grin. He groaned, flopping backward again.

"You're really annoying..." He looked at you through his hair. "Have I ever told you that before?"

You shake your head with a laugh. For some reason, he made you feel better even while insulting you... like a love-hate relationship.
