Days passed, and nothing came to either you or Punz from Wilbur. Well... except the knowing glances he shot into the room when you were guarding the blonde. Each time, Punz would pause whatever he was doing to flip the heir off.
"He's as infuriating as George." Punz groaned once he assumed Wilbur was out of earshot. "Perhaps that's just what happens when you're an heir to a royal throne..." He suggests quickly after.
You laugh, shaking your head. "No, if that were the case then Wilbur would be more irritable than his twin and Tommy combined. Both of which are quite infuriating."
"I didn't know Wilbur had a twin." Punz stated, leaning against the bars of his cell. You looked over at him, realizing that he was staring at you. You tilt your head toward him, a smug grin on your face. He blushed and looked away, realizing that he had been caught.
"Yeah," you look away, going back to the topic at hand. "King Ensidione has regrettably been considering using them to bring the war to an end. You know, an arranged marriage of peace..." You sighed, remembering your pity for the sovereign.
He cringed at the thought as well. "Sheesh.." He muttered, shaking his head at the thought. "And they'd probably have to marry George, too."
You raised a brow in confusion. There were four members of the royal family, the king and queen plus their two children. "Isn't there another child?"
"Eret?" He laughed quietly at the thought. "Yeah, he's cool and all, but she isn't actually part of the family. They're what you'd call a complicated case, I guess."
You slid down the door to the floor, scooting your body around so you were facing him, a smile bright on your face. "Well, I've got all the time in the world!"
He huffed out a laugh, sitting down across from you. "I guess you do... Until night time of course." He stated, frowning slightly at the last bit.
"Actually, I'm stuck here tonight." You said, jokingly groaning as though you were annoyed with even the thought. You both pause, locked eyes, and burst out laughing.
"Darn, was hoping to be here with Tommy again!" He joked, making disappointed hand gestures.
You began laughing harder with his joke. "NO ONE WANTS TOMMY AGAIN, MAN-" You shout, hitting your knee. He gave you a look that showed he knew that all too well.
After some laughter, he cleared his throat and started explaining the Falconier royal family. "In case you were unaware, George's mother died thirteen years ago when he was eleven. His father fell into a spiral of depression."
You interrupted him gently, "That's a possible reason as to why the war started..." He nodded, clearing his throat. He seemed unsettled by the idea, but willing to consider such.
"And then the next year, Eret's father died. Their mother didn't have the same reaction, instead she had seemed happy, according to Eret at least. After a short period of time, Eret believes that his mother was put in contact with the king through their uncle who was part of the royal court. The two apparently fell in love and later married." He took a breath, staring back out the "window". You followed his eyes, staring at the misshapen wall past the prison ledge.
"Not a year later, George and Eret became siblings. If you'd like to know, neither of them enjoy much of it. The one thing they like about it is that both of their parents are happy." He shrugged, looking back into his cell. You glanced back to see the uneasy look on his face.
"Punz?" You ask quietly. He turned back to face you, locking eyes quickly. You watch as the worry in his eyes fades to something much more compassionate... maybe even loving. "Have you ever fallen in love?" You ask quietly, not able to stop the words.
He looked shocked before laughing. "Yes, Y/N. I have fallen in love before."
"Would you consider any of them to be 'the one'?" You mentally kicked yourself for continuing to ask such weird questions, but he responded with no hesitation.
"There is one, yeah." You shuffled closer, urging him to continue describing this mystery love. You doubt it was you, like anyone in a cheesy romance story would.
Before you could muster a response, Fundy came sprinting towards you to grab the keys to the iron door. The small fox climbed and opened it, causing you to fall backwards since you were sitting against it. You fell into Punz's lap. Fundy laughed before dropping the keys next to you and running the way he came.
You scrambled to sit up, your face immediately turning red. "Sorry, sorry." You look back and are immediately greeted with his eyes, closer to you than they should've been.
"That was my cue." He says, reaching his hand out slowly, taking yours gently. You felt your face heat up even more than before, watching in silence as his other hand came forward, clasping around your left hand. Your right hand was shaking crazily, and you were certain the one he was holding was shaking as well.
"Y/N..." His voice was more calming than you had expected it to be. "The person whom I consider to be 'the one' is you."
The moment the words left his mouth, you didn't believe what you were hearing. No way he was saying this, saying that he felt the same way. It was some sort of fever dream, or something.
His small smile fell with your hesitance. "I'm sorry, that was stupid of me." He quickly let go, and was about to back away... when you grabbed his hand and pulled him back.
You tenderly pressed your lips against his, feeling the warmth of his skin radiate on to you. You pulled away slowly, looking back to stare into his eyes.
He was shocked, but in a more pleasant way. "Wow." He says quietly. You instantly burst out laughing at his reaction, shaking your head. You stand, grabbing the keys and shooting him away from the opening. He scooted away, seeming hesitant.
You shut and lock the door, hanging the keys back onto the key rack. You turn back and spot his disappointed look. "No one can know." You say, a stern look in your eyes. As you finish your sentence, Tubbo walks into the room with a wide smile pointed toward you.
