Aria had Virgil lay down on the couch, top lifted up slightly so that his stomach was exposed. Roman stayed by his side, holding his husband's hand while Logan and Patton stood to the side, watching curiously.
"Okay, I'll have to inject the serum directly into your stomach so that it's more effective. Is that okay?" she asked, wanting to be sure.
After getting the go ahead, she grabbed a needle and carefully injected Virgil's stomach, causing the boy to wince, understandably.
"Now, that won't get rid of the pain completely, but it will definitely make it more bearable. With that in mind, are you ready to begin?"
A slight nod of approval was given and so Aria opened her book to the correct page, setting a hand on Virgil's stomach. Closing her eyes, she began to recite the spell that was written on the page she'd opened the book to. A blue aura surrounded her hand, getting brighter and brighter. As the brightness increased, Virgil began to feel quite bad pain in his stomach. He squeezed his husband's hand tightly, tears in his eyes.
"It's okay, Vee... It'll be over before you know it." Roman told him gently, comforting him as he was crying in pain now.
"He's right. Just bear with it a few more seconds."
The blue light began to fade and, much to Virgil's relief, so did the pain.
"I bet you're glad I had a serum on hand to help with the pain. Without it, can you imagine the pain you'd have been in?"
Roman sighed, not even wanting to imagine it.
"Luckily, the painful part is over. Now for the actual baby. Roman, I'll need a blood sample."
Aria grabbed a vial of orange liquid and a pin before walking over to him. Pricking his finger, she held it over the opening of the vial, a drop of the red liquid mixing in with the orange. The smell of Roman's blood was so strong and sweet that Patton had to step outside, Logan went out there with him.
"Right. Virgil, I'll need you to drink this." she told him, holding the vial out to him.
"You want him to drink my blood?"
"I've done it before."
He sat up and took the vial from Aria, drinking its contents.
"I may be human now, but it's as sweet as it was the first time, even mixed in with the orange liquid. Okay, I've done that. Now what?" Virgil questioned curiously.
In response, Aria flipped to another page in her book and set her hand on the boy's stomach once again, reciting another spell. This time, a white aura surrounded her hand instead. The spell this time seemed to take much longer, that did make sense though considering it was meant for creating a new life. After a few more minutes, the white light faded.
"If you take a pregnancy test when you get home, it'll come back positive. You're having a baby, just the way you want."
Aria had smiled at the parents-to-be. She summoned a blood red diamond and handed it to Roman.
"This can be used to summon me. If you ever have any concerns during the pregnancy, all you have to do is submerge the diamond in water and say my name. I'll come straight to you. Same applies when he goes into labour. Trust me, you'll need me there to help you through it. Oh, and of course, you're welcome to come and visit me any time."
Roman smiled, nodding. He was so grateful to Aria for helping them and he was happy that they were able to help her too by letting her be a part of their child's life.
"Right, now that all that is done, I suggest you both head home. I also suggest that you take it easy for a few weeks. You'll probably feel a little sore due to the whole anatomy change." she explained to him.
"I'll make sure he takes it easy because I know he definitely won't do it willingly."
That statement made Virgil smile, looking up at his husband.
"Yeah. You're right. You know me too well."
Not much later, they said goodbye to Aria, going outside to join Logan and Patton. They all headed back to their respective homes. It was quite late by the time they returned, and so they went straight to bed, falling asleep within minutes.
