Lucas held her in his arms until she'd calmed down, the tears stopping. Sniffling, she looked up at him.
"I love you, Lucas. I've never stopped. Please don't hate me. Please..."
Smiling gently, he set his hand on her cheek, caressing it slowly with his thumb. Delilah closed her eyes, leaning into touch and placing her hand over his.
"I don't hate you, Dee. I could never hate you. I told you I'll always be waiting for you, no matter how long it takes. I love you. I love you more than anything. All of this was Charlie's fault... he had you under a pretty strong spell. I'm just happy it's all over now. Things can go back to normal now... provided that's what you actually want. So, is it what you want? To be with me?"
Delilah hugged him tightly, nodding.
"Yes. That's what I want. I'll always want that. I want us to be together forever."
Lucas smiled happily, pulling her into his room, kissing her as soon as the door was closed. She very quickly returned the kiss. They both pulled away a few moments later.
"Mary me..." Lucas whispered.
"Marry me, Delilah..."
There was no verbal response, she just kissed him again. During the kiss, he pulled a diamond engagement ring from his pocket and slipped it onto her finger. He'd had it since New Year's Day and, though they'd not been together long at that point or at this moment, he just knew she was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. As far as he was concerned, Delilah was his soulmate. Of course, at that moment, she was thinking the exact same thing about him. The time was now 6am, and the young couple got into Lucas' bed, spending almost the whole day in it, mostly just talking but also doing some other, more adult things. At around 5pm, they went downstairs for dinner. It was Lucas' favourite; chicken, cooked by Virgil. They were already set up in the dining room when the couple got down there.
"It smells amazing." Delilah complimented as her and Lucas sat down.
"And it looks even better." he said.
Everybody began to eat the meal, a comfortable silence settling around them. When they'd all finished eating, Roman took the dirty dishes to the kitchen to wash them. Virgil looked at his daughter and Lucas.
"Seems things worked themselves out then?"
He nodded towards her hand that the ring was on. That made them both blush.
"I'm happy for you both."
"As am I." came Roman's voice as he re-entered.
The newly engaged couple smiled at each other happily. Delilah leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you. I'm just lucky to have such supportive parents and to have found such an amazing guy... Did Aria leave? I was going to ask before we started eating bit I didn't get a chance to."
Virgil nodded.
"She didn't want to disturb the two of you so just asked us to tell you goodbye and that she'll see you another time."
"Okay."
At 9pm, the four of them sat down with drinks and popcorn to watch a movie together. They'd decided on watching 'The Hunger Games', though Delilah fell asleep halfway through, so Lucas had to stop watching it and take her up to what was once again their room. He got her into her pyjamas, then got into his own before laying in their bed with her, hugging her close. He fell asleep quickly, happy to be able to sleep beside her again.
