"What?" Delilah asked.

She'd heard him, just wasn't sure if he actually meant it or if he was joking.

"Will you be my girlfriend? I've been wanting to ask you this for a while, I was just worried about ruining what we already have. You don't have to say yes right now, or at all, take some time to think about it. No pressure. Just- at least tell me you like the necklace..."

"Lucas, this is insane. The necklace was clearly super expensive, and you must have gone through so much trouble setting all of this up. It's lovely. No one has ever done anything like this for me before. As happy as this all makes me... it wasn't necessary for you to do all of this. Y-you could've just asked me in a simple way and I've had said yes. I care about you a lot, I have for a while, so... yes, I'll be your girlfriend."

She smiled brightly, hugging him and burying her head in the crook of his neck. This was the happiest she had felt in a long time, especially since the kidnapping. About ten minutes later, the new couple made their way downstairs to re-join the others. Aria was the first to notice them, going over and embracing them both.

"So?"

Delilah looked at her godmother, confused, and Aria pointed to the necklace.

"He's clearly asked you already. So... what did you say? There doesn't seem to be any awkwardness between you. You both appear to be happy, and you're holding hands... I'm going to guess you said yes."

Delilah couldn't help but giggle at her godmother's rambling. Lucas decided to stop her spiralling any further.

"Luckily, she said yes. I guess I was worrying about it for nothing. One thing though, I don't remember telling you that I was going to ask Dee out. In fact, I didn't tell anybody."

"Sweetie, I'm a sorceress. No one ever needs to tell me anything because I'll always know everything I need or want to know with just a click of my fingers. People can't ever keep secrets from me, even if they really want to."

Delilah and Lucas looked at each other with nervous expressions before returning their attentions to Aria.

"You can be kind of scary sometimes..." they both told her.

She giggled, hugging the couple again.

"What are you two talking about? I'm not scary. I'm magical."

Virgil walked over to the three of them, smiling when he saw that Lucas and his daughter were holding hands. He called his husband over.

"It finally happened." he told him happily.

"We're happy for you both. I mean, we knew it was going to happen at some point, we just didn't know when."

Delilah smiled shyly at her parents, cheeks flushed.

"Please stop... this is so embarrassing."

Lucas chuckled, gently squeezing her hand, this made her smile more. She let go of his hand.

"I'm going to get a drink. Want one?"

"Sure. Thanks, Dee..."

He watched her go with a fond smile, then turned his attention back to Aria and the couple. The four of them re-joined the other guests in the main part of the living room, all taking a seat and talking to each other. In the kitchen, Delilah grabbed two glasses from the cupboard and filled them both with lemonade, it was both her and Lucas' favourite drink. Drinks in hand, she joined everybody else, sitting down beside her boyfriend and handing one of the glasses of lemonade to him.

"Thank you." he said, smiling at her gently.

She smiled back, kissing his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder, listening to the conversations going on around her. Lucas finished his lemonade quickly, then wrapping an arm around Delilah, holding her gently.

"I love you, Delilah..."

"And I love you..."
