"Y/n! You're going to Hyunjin's party, right? He invited our whole class after all," your best friend Hyekyo asked as you were organizing the textbooks in your locker.
"Uhh, I don't know... I'm not really the social type," you said, half telling the truth and half making an excuse.
"What?!? But it's the Hwang Hyunjin!! You've been crushing on him for like, almost a year now–"
"Shh!" You slapped your hand onto her mouth, sighing at her excessive volume. "It's a secret, remember? I love you and all Hyekyo but maybe make sure only I can hear you instead of the hundreds of students in the school."
She nodded before removing your hand and muttering a small apology as usual.
"Seriously though," her voice softened into slightly above a whisper, "when will you make a move? This is a good chance to finally talk to him! You know, confess or something!! Aren't you tired of staring at him from afar?"
"Not really. I'm fine with keeping quiet and at a distance. He doesn't even like me back so I'd rather keep my heart in perfect shape instead of him breaking it into shambles."
Hyekyo pouted, finding your scared cat behaviour as an obstacle between you and the one you love. It's been months since she declared her mission to get you both together, and she hasn't stopped yet, nor will she now.
"Fine, you don't have to tell him your feelings, but pretty please y/n, I promise you that you won't regret going!! Just trust me and come along~" She clung to your arm like a child as if her cuteness would change your mind.
But it wasn't like you had a choice anyway. Her stubbornness was severe, and there was no antidote. You rolled your eyes, already noticing the growing smile on her face at the sign of early victory.
"Okay I'll go."
She releases you and jumps enthusiastically.
"Only because I know you won't stop until I do. Don't expect me to actually walk up to Hyunjin and I don't know, do whatever it is you want me to," you clarified, earning a nod back in reply.
"There's nothing to worry about! I'll just tell you in advance that tonight is going to be unforgettable for you~~" She winked with the most suspicious grin you've ever seen.
"You've said that many times before and so far none of them have been true."
"Yeah yeah, but today's the day!! Just you wait and see! Magic will happen dear, and you can thank me later," she spoke with upmost confidence.
"Sure," you sarcastically agreed to which she huffs, weakly punching your shoulder.

Your feet felt like they each weighed 20 pounds as you weren't able to move from the driveway of Hyunjin's house. If you were to get nervous, now would be the right time to do so.
"Come on y/n, are you just gonna stand there? It's been 5 minutes. You can't turn back now!!" Hyekyo tried to convince you to enter through the door but your body stayed completely still.
Eventually, she was able to drag you into the crowd of chatters and laughs.
"Woah..." you mumbled, admiring the beautiful interior of the large living space.
It was quite neat with a simple design, yet you still found interest in it. You could see that practically everyone from your class were already there.
The music blasting from the speakers were loud and lights were dimmed, allowing the lazer machines to do their job and paint the walls in rays of neon colors. Honestly, you didn't love it, but it wasn't that bad to be in a noisy atmosphere once in a while.
