Chapter 239 - The Question

Still Erl's POV

As I arrive at the location I am totally amazed. My friends really made it perfect. Okay, the location was perfect before already but with the decoration it's on another level. Both the balcony and the room where we will have dinner are decorated with tulips. Yellow, orange and red. They're Eve's favourite flowers and since I want this evening to be perfect I couldn't choose any other flowers. They look absolutely gorgeous. But the flowers aren't my favourite thing about the decoration. About two weeks ago Marie asked me to give her and Maddy access to my photos. When I asked why they said they had a surprise and now that I'm here I finally know what they did with the pics. They printed out every single photo of Eve and me, from our first picture to the one we sent them from the car after our argument. Every single photo. And now they are dangling from the ceiling, standing on the tables and commodes and sticked to the walls. The whole room is full of pictures of us. The most beautiful ones are here twice, once dangling somewhere and once in a collage on the table where we will have dinner. It's fantastic to have every moment we captured in picture in one place. Our first picture, our first pic with my family, us in Canada, us in Norway, when we moved to Dortmund, when she was pregnant, pictures with Jadon and Jude, Marie and Gio and so many other friends, us on Christmas eve... So many beautiful memories and so many beautiful pictures. Looking at them makes my heart melt over and over again. Thinking about how many wonderful memories we've made together makes my heart melt.

"Wow, it's perfect! You've absolutely outdone yourselves! Thank you all so much for helping!", I exclaim and then smile at my friends. They smile back and all come over to hug me. As we've all hugged Maddy says: "And now show us the ring. Please, I'm totally thrilled!" I laugh and then get the little box out of my pocket. The box has the same colour as my suit and Eve's dress and on the inside there's some velvet where the ring is embedded in. I carefully open the box and show my friends the ring. All of them fascinatedly look at it, especially Marie, Maddy and Jude.

"Wow, it's so beautiful! Perfect for Eve.", Jude says, then he turns to Jadon and adds: "Just to let you know, one day I'd love to also get a ring in that style." Jadon chuckles and kisses his boyfriend's cheeks before answering: "One day you will. But at first Erl and Eve will have their big day, hm?" Jude nods and also chuckles, then kisses Jadon. I happily watch that scenery. They're so damn cute together and I'm so happy they found each other.

We prepare a few more things, then Jadon and Jude freight me and my suit in a bathroom. Jadon hands me a towel and says: "Take a shower, blow dry your hair and put on the suit, then call us." I agree and lock the door as they've left the room. I undress and get in the shower. Damn, they really payed attention to what products I use in the shower after training and games, at least exactly those products are here.
I wash my body and shave, then get out of the shower to blow dry my hair. Since it's become quite long I need a few minutes until it's completely dry. Next I put on the suit and once again I'm astonished by the fact that it fits like wax. And it really looks amazing in combination with my light hair and my eyes.

I unlock the door and exclaim: "Jadon, Jude, I'm done." Immediately the two Englishmen come over to me and put me back in the bathroom where they ask me to sit down on the edge of the bathtub which I do. Then Jadon starts styling my hair while Jude takes care of my tie. It might sound weird but I still have problems with doing that correctly. But Jude knows damn well how to tie it, probably because he had to do it for his school uniform in England. With their help it doesn't take long to get ready.

Whilst Jadon still does my hair Maddy comes in to tell us that she'll pick up Eve now. I thank her and then get really nervous. I mean... I've planned this for months but now that it's such a short time to go, now that it's becoming reality, it's a weird feeling. Jude seems to notice my nervousness and chuckles, then he gently grabs my shoulder and says: "You don't have to be nervous, Erling. She will say yes and everything is gonna be alright. Believe me." I loudly exhale and say: "I know, it's just... I don't know. It feels kinda weird. And wonderful. But at the same time I kinda really wanna throw up." My friends hug me and Jadon says: "I think that's normal. Being nervous before asking someone to marry you is normal. But as Jude said, everything will be perfect. And we should better leave now, Maddy and Eve will be here in a few minutes and we will better be gone by then." I agree and together we leave the bathroom.
