Love At First Sight Part Two

Chapter 207 - Great News. And More Great News.

In the last few days Erl slowly became happy again. And even when he wasn't feeling good he didn't let that affect the way he is talking to me. At the contrary, he was treating me like a queen. He has made some fantastic breakfast for me every morning so I wouldn't just eat cornflakes. Also he cooked almost every evening and he brought me tea whilst I was working or studying, telling me to stay hydrated. And he brought me some flowers. Red roses. For normal I'm not that much of a fan of red roses but those are really beautiful and the way he was giving them to me was so very cute. I was doing some university stuff and he just came in and gave me the flowers and a piece of my favourite cake, saying 'A beautiful woman like you needs some beautiful flowers and some cake', then he just left the room. Somehow weird but also very cute.
Anyway, what I wanted to say with all of that: we're having a perfect relationship again and we're both very happy. Right now we're chilling on the couch, my head on his chest and his arms around me. The rain beats the window, making loud noises, but we're lying in the warm room with a blanket wrapped around us and with some hot tea. We're watching frozen, Erl somehow really wanted to watch that movie and I just can't say no when he looks at me with puppy eyes. Erl plays with my hair and smiles happily. "Eve? You know that I love you, right?", he mumbles and I start smiling as well. "Yes, I know that. And I love you too Erling.", I answer and then turn my head to kiss him. He returns the kiss and for a moment our lips move in perfect sync, then we get interrupted by Erl's phone. He grunts, then takes his phone and answers the call. "Haaland?", he asks, sounding a little pissed. I hear someone talk for a moment but can't understand what he is saying. But the smile on Erl's face shows me that it's something good. He talks to the person for some more minutes, then ends the call and smiles at me. "I've just been told that I've been chosen as the Golden Boy 2020. Can you believe it?", he says. My jaw just drops, then I pull him in for a little kiss before saying: "That's wonderful and well deserved! I am so fucking proud of you, Erling. So damn proud!" He kisses me again and I happily return the kiss. I'm really so proud of him. He really deserves this award, in the past two years he's been showing everyone how fantastic he is even though he's that young. My golden boy. "When will the award be given to you officially?", I ask him while drawing circles on his arm with my fingertips. "December 14th when I'm in Qatar. I wish you could be there too.", he answers and softly kisses my hand. I put my head on his chest again and then say: "That would be great. But I'm sure it'll also be great when I'm not there. It'll be your evening, so you better celebrate yourself." Erl chuckles quietly and feathers a little kiss on my hairline. We watch the rest of the movie, then Erling leaves for the kitchen where he makes some Indian tomato butter chicken. One of my favourite dishes.
Only minutes after he has left the room my phone starts ringing. I see Gabi's name on my phone and immediately answer her video call. "Hey Gabi, how are you?", I ask with a big smile on my face. But my smile isn't as big as hers. "I'm fantastic. Are you alone? Or can Erling hear me?", she asks. I get off the sofa and leave the room for my office. "Now I am alone.", I say. "Okay, good. I don't want him to know yet. It's supposed to be a surprise on Christmas eve, for everyone. But I just have to talk to someone and I trust you that you won't tell anyone.", she says. I assure her that I won't say anything to anyone. Then Gabi takes something and shows it to me. I need a moment to realise what it is but as I do I'm shook. It's a pregnancy test. With two bars. She's pregnant. Gabi. Is. Pregnant. "Oh my god, Gabi! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!", I say while smiling bright. She smiles as well and places a hand on her belly whilst saying: "Thanks. I really couldn't be happier right now. So many months with negative tests. And now a finally a positive one. It's still... Unbelievable. I'm really having a baby with Jan. In a few months only we will hold our child. That's so wonderful." Both her and my eyes are filled with tears, happy tears. "It really is wonderful. And I really can't wait to hold my nephew or niece. Oh Gabi, I'm so happy right now. Erl will be awarded golden boy in two weeks and you will be a mum in a few months. Today is such a wonderful day!", I say. She agrees by nodding and then really starts crying because she is so happy. "How are you going to tell Jan?", I ask her as she's calmed down a little. She strokes her tears away and answers: "On Christmas eve, when I'll also tell my family. I thought of taping an sonogram to my belly and when I give him my present I'll tell him that it's under my shirt. And when he pulls my shirt up he'll see the sonogram and know what that means." I smile bright and tell her that it's a wonderful idea. Unfortunately I have to end the call a few minutes later as Erl calls me for dinner but the happiness stays.
