"Look, why don't we all just leave??" Simon said, brushing his curly blonde hair out of his emerald green eyes. I looked up, the once bright blue sky was now turning into a gray clouded painting.

"Guys it's going to rain, let's just go into the shack and wait until the rain stops" Luke said, looking up at the sky with me. Everyone seemed reluctant to go back into the shack, but nobody wanted to be on the road in a storm. We all grudgingly agreed, and went back into the shack.

Outside of the shack, the wind was whistling and the thunder was clapping. Lightning flashed across the sky, like a candle in a basement. "Guys, I don't like it in here" Christina said, sitting at the small wooden table in the corner.

"None of us do Christina, but you don't want to be out in the storm do you?" Luke replied. We all nodded, and sat in silence for what felt like an eternity,, but realistically was only 10 minutes.

"Let's play 2 truths 1 lie" I said, trying to ease the tension.  "Okay" Chase said, we all gathered in a circle and decided that Luke would start.

"1-I am a teacher. 2-I have a dog  3- I hate chicken" Luke said, we all looked at eachother, debating which one was a lie. I replied first saying, "The lie is that you hate chicken, there is no way you hate chicken, everyone loves chicken" Luke smiled at me. "Do you all agree?" He asked, smiling. We all nodded. "wrong, I hate chicken, but I am not a teacher." He said, and we all looked  at him weirdly.

We continued to play for an hour or so, when it started to get really cold. "Guys, there was a house, just up the road, maybe we should see if they'd let us in to stay warm." Carrie said, shivering. I nodded. "It's better than staying here and getting hypothermia" Simon said. We all nodded, and got up, walking out into the stormy cold weather outside of the shack.

Upon arriving to the house, it seemed empty. It stood tall, at least 2 stories and was white. Paint peeled around the windows, but overall it was a beautiful house. The yard was large and green, with a little barn to the right of it.

"Who's going to knock?" Carrie asked, her thin body shivering. "I will" I said, pounding my ice cold fist against the door. "Hello?? Anyone there?" I yelled. No one answered, but the door slowly creeped open.

"This is exactly like a god-damn horror movie" Simon mumbled. I heard a thud, and assumed Luke had thumped the back of his head. "Shhhhh" Christina said, holding onto me tightly, as if afraid to let go.

"AAHHH" Carrie screamed, clinging onto Simon. A Orange cat hissed at us from the banister, it's hair puffed up, and back curved like an upside down C. "It's just a cat" Chase said, prying Carrie off of a very displeased Simon.

"Guys calm down, we are all just freaked out and cold." I said, facing the group. A look of terror slowly appeared on there faces. "Guys, what's wrong?" I asked, Christina and Carrie pointing behind me.

"Can I help you dearies?" A young female voice said from behind me. I jumped and darted over the group. "I'm so sorry! It's just when I knocked nobody answered and the door opened, so we thought this place was abandoned." I said, speaking fast. The woman waved her hand.

"It's fine!" She said, a slight southern accent to her voice. She smiled, revealing her perfect teeth.  "Would you like some dry clothes? You guys look absolutely cold and miserable!" She said. We all nodded and she led us into a room, at the very end of the long hallway. There were rows of pictures upon the walls, undoubtedly of past family members.

"Thank you so much miss...." Chase said, peeling off his gray sweatshirt, and wiping his toned torso down with a towel. "Aveline" She said, smiling.

"Thank you Miss Aveline" Chase said, slipping on a dry shirt. "You have a beautiful name" I commented. "Thank you darling! And what would ya'lls name be?" She asked, her blue eyes twinkiling.

"I'm Joyce, and this is Carrie,Simon,Luke,Carrie, and Christina" I replied, everyone waving when I said there names. "It's nice to meet ya'll. Would you like to stay here for the night?" She asked.

"I really don't-" Carrie started, before getting cut off by Simon, who graciously accepted the offer.
