"Don't try to follow me
I would hold you down if I could
Make you the enemy
I would let you down."
Taylor's POV
As soon as my trembling hands held his, he slowly helped me up back on my feet. Once we began to walk towards the other side of the road, time looped back. Everything went backwards. People's steps, and all the vehicles including the one that was apparently going to be the cause of my death if I didn't take this man's hand.
Not even bothered, my fingers intertwined with his.
We kept moving forward until time went back to normal. I couldn't help but look at him with a shocked face on. "Don't let go." He said. "Don't let go unless you want to die, right now."
Without question, I hurriedly nodded, tightening my grip on his hand.
I didn't know where we were going, but I trusted him either way.
He literally saved my life.
And with MAGIC.
Just a few minutes of walking he led me to a cafe, which was fortunately near Gigi's place. The main destination I was supposed to go to. We sat on a table, with our seats just across each other.
Our hands still held on to each other, both were on the table.
"How is this possible?" I asked him.
"All we did was go back in time. It's nothing grand."
"Not that. Your...How do I put it? I'm searching for a term that doesn't sound rude."
"My identity?"
"Yup."
"Are you suspicious or curious?" He tilted his head, resting it on his free hand.
"Neither. I'm simply being rational." I straightened my posture.
"But you saw earlier. You experienced it first hand. Accept it."
"That's easier said than done."
"You're alive right now."
"So?"
"It was Switzerland and Italy outside your door."
"S-so?"
"In your dream, in the subway, and at work. Don't you remember?"
"I do remember, but it makes no sense. I feel like I've gone insane." I think I was annoying him, judging by the look on his face.
It was because this is probably the 19891994th time I've insisted that I've lost my mind.
"Okay." He took a deep breath. "Watch."
"What?"
Suddenly all the lights of the cafe went out. Daylight was the only thing that lit up the room.
"Oh my gosh, did the lights go out?" One of the customers asked.
"What's wrong with this?" I heard an employee say. The blender she was using just speeds up and slows down on its own.
I looked around to see if anything else was funny, but he asked again. "Okay, how about now?"
"A timely coincidence?" I'm trying my best to convince myself here. I saw him scoff lightly with his annoying smirk plastered on.
