"All the times I won't believe

Yours'll be the voice that is on my shoulder

All the things you've said to me

Written on my heart every word you've spoken

I know you, you'll never give up on me, give up on me

Even when I let you give up on me, give up on me

Oh, when I'm out of place, when I'm losing faith

You're the one that never lets me run

You'll never give up on me

Give up on me, give up on me."

River's POV

"What should I do now?" I ask myself, fixing one of the chairs at table 1 in the cafe, Joe was also helping out in cleaning up before closing.

""If you're done with work, you can get ready to get home." He told me.

"No, not that. I mean, from now on. My sister's okay now, so there's nothing more I ask for., but after having experienced so big, it really makes me think a lot."

"Think a lot about what?"

"Just about what I should do from now on. What I should do for a living. Stuff like that."

"Should I help you out with that?" Joe suddenly offers. "How would you like to run a second location?"

"W-what?" My eyes widened.

"You told me you enjoyed this job. I've been watching you and you're good at this. I'll give you a hefty paycheck. What do you say? Interested? Do you need time to think about it?"

"What's there to think about?! I'm totally up for it!" I exclaimed. "I'm so grateful! But...Mr. Jonas..."

He's giving me something so valuable, and I at least wanna be honest to him before I accept this. It feels unfair to still keep this from him after he treated me so well.

"Yes?"

"I actually have something to confess. Please have a seat." I pulled him a chair.

"And what's that?" He arched his brow. "I'm fine as long as it's not a love confession." He joked, sitting down beside me.

"Well, it's kind of similar." I pursed my lips.

"What?"

"To be honest, I'm friends with Gigi. Your first love."

"WHAT- How do you know her?"

"She's close with my sister, so I've known her for ten years. And now, she's like a sister- she's actually more like a brother to me."

"Oh. I see."

"I didn't know from the beginning. I found out later on, but I can't find the right time to tell you. Which is why I haven't. I'm sorry."

"You don't have to be sorry."

"I'm not trying to make excuses, but after I found out you were that jerk- I mean after I found out you were that guy, I really wanted things to work out between you two. I mean, you're a really good guy."
