i. mysterious cave

A scream echoed through the woods, catching a young womans attention. Cassiopia Grady looked around and realised she was alone, her three friends nowhere in sight. The scream had died off and the sounds of the woods had taken over again. The birds continued singing as nothing had happened, the chirping of the insects made her uneasy while she continued to turn her head around to spot her missing friends.

„Cleo?"

She turned her head to where the voice was coming from, heading into that direction.

„Emma?" she shouted, having recognised her friends voice. There was silence for afew seconds and the sound of water became noticeable.

„Cassie, we are here!"

Cassiopia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and found her way out of the woods, a form of cliffs and an oasis below came in sight, small rivulets flowing down the rocks. She spotted her two blonde friends kneeling on the other side of a small ledge. She took a few steps back before jumping over the ledge to get to her friends.

„What happened?" Cassie asked, kneeling down besides her companions,looking down a hole she hadn't seen before.

„Cleo fell down the hole." Emma stated and looked from Cassie to Rikki. „I'll go down and get her." she started to move closer to the edge while Rikki frowned at her.

„Are you crazy? It doesn't make sense if you -" she was cut short by Emmas scream as she slipped and fell out of their sight. „Great."

The brunette looked back at Rikki and shrugged. „We should find something to pull them up with."

„And what exactly do you think we can find? I don't think there's a rope or something mindlessly laying around." the blonde snapped, looking down the hole where two of four had gone down.

Cassie rolled her eyes. „Fine," she snapped back, pulling her legs in the hole and letting herself slip down too, leaving Rikki stunned and alone.

She held in a yelp as she slid down the small path, stopping after a few seconds next to Emma and Cleo. She looked up in awe, letting her eyes catch every glimpse possible off the walls the cave build around her. The distant voice of moving water filling her ears with a silent echo. A small gasp of awe left her lips at the beautiful cave that was surrounding them.

„What are you doing here? You were supposed to get us out of here!" the piercing voice of Emma brought her out of her gaze, making her snap her head to the blonde.

„Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot to pack my climbing set this morning," Cassie stated sarcastically. „Bloody hell, first Rikki snapping at me, now you. And it says Australians are chill." Her eyes met the ones of the first vanished girl, her face changing from annoyed to concerned. „Are you okay, Cleo?"

„Yeah, it's just my ankle." she mumbled while rubbing her left ankle.

Cassie opened her mouth to answer as a weight crashed into her back, making her groan in pain and surprise. She turned her head around to spot the last of their group joining them in the cave.

„Oh my god, you two really need to rethink your decisions to get people out of a hole." Emma claimed while she stood.

„Excuse me? You were the first to get down here," Rikki fought back, also getting up.

Cassiopia took a deep breath. Oh how she wished she was off age already. She would have distracted Rikki somehow and would have turned a nearby stone into a rope. She wasn't the best in transfiguration but she would have managed.

She got to her feet as well, holding her hand out for the injured girl.

„Let's just concentrate on getting out of here." Cleo exclaimed as she took the hand and got up, putting most of her weight on her right foot.
