'Dear Cassie,

we miss you terribly! I hope you're holding up okay in school.

We are glad to hear that you're not alone in this. It sounds like Skyler is a great friend and with her and Noah by your side we are sure you will handle everything coming your way. We are sorry about you having to step back from the sport you are so passionate about. Emma was a great swimmer and had to stop as well for pretty obvious reasons. It really sucks.

The full moon got to us, too. On the day of the first one an old lady warned Cleo about it. Emma went crazy that night and messed up her father's birthday party but we managed to hide the secret nevertheless. The second one got Cleo and it was absolutely weird. You see, she can't sing for her life but after she saw the moon that night her voice sounded beautiful. Multiple boys heard her voice and all gathered around her. Lewis said she was behaving like a siren from some old myths that used to sing to lure sailors to their deaths. Luckily, it didn't escalate like that.

Hopefully the second full moon didn't get to you. Did you find a safe spot in your boarding school to hide from it?

We noticed another change. Shortly after you went back to Great Britain we started to have these abilities. We all were able to control water with our bare hands, move it around with our willpower. Can you do that, too?

We mentioned an older lady, well, her name is Miss Chatham. Ever since we changed she turned up around us and she let us know that she experienced it all, too when she was our age. There were three of them, however, she somehow knew that we are four. She told us stories from her youth and about her friends. One night that they have spend at the moonpool, they met another mermaid. She had told them that she turned in Ireland and had to hide because people found out about her. Miss Chatham is convinced she still lives in the sea.

She and her friends owned matching necklaces. Emma found one in the moonpool and Rikki another one at the juweller. Miss Chatham gave us hers, telling us they should stay together. She gave us a fourth one, a different necklace. This is where it get's really strange. The mermaid they had met that one day owned it. She told them, that she found the blue stone at the oasis she had turned and kept it ever since. She gave it to them. She was convinced that the day will come when they know what to do with it. It's weird how it all adds up, right? Miss Chatham somehow knew that we were four and she told us to make sure you'd get that necklace.

We talked enough about the mermaid lifestyle. School is stressing us out. Well, more like Emma is stressing us two. Also, do you remember Zane Bennet? Rikki is dating him now. Crazy, right?

How are you holding up with school? And don't hesitate to update us about your dating life! We would love to hear everything.

We really miss you, Cassie. Hopefully we'll see you soon.

Love, Emma, Cleo and Rikki

Cassie sat cross-legged on the bed in her dorm, the classes finished for the day. Grace vanished soon after the last lesson and Cassie was sure she was spending time in the quiet nature to sort out her own feelings, far away from everyone else's.

The letter in her hand made her smile despite the horrible news from the morning. To hear about her friends' lives was refreshing and she was interested in the power the girls had gained themselves. She frowned when she read about Miss Chatham and her friends. It all happened before and it even happened in Ireland. She wondered if there were more places in the world where people could turn and if this wasn't as rare as they thought. But she also wondered how Noah and herself didn't find a single clue then. It all didn't make sense to her.
