A week later and it was the same thing everyday, throw up in the morning, and then sometime in the afternoon. I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when I saw something on the counter, a pregnancy test. I frowned at it when something in my head clicked.
I dropped my toothbrush and sat down on the toilet, grabbing my phone and calling Nick. "Nick." I said worriedly.
"Nick is down at the dock, is something wrong?"
"I think I'm pregnant." I stressed.
Sophia sounded like she got up out of a squeaky chair. "Oh my god, did you do the test yet?"
"No, I'm doing it right now." I looked up at the ceiling, tears forming in my eyes. "What if I'm pregnant?"
"It's all going to be okay." She said calmly, I could hear her running upstairs to me and I closed the bathroom door.
She helped me with everything, rubbed my back as I cried and told me it was going to be okay.
Positive.
I ran down the stairs of the hotel room out into the court yard, searching for Nick. "He's down at the dock." Sophie yelled from Nick's balcony.
I ran down the cobble stairs, and on the dirt path. Nick was on the dock crouched down, messing with a small motor boat. "Nick." I yelled from the end of the dock.
"Hey- Kar?" He asked as I started running. "Karl? Baby?" He yelled, running after me through the trees. When I stopped he grabbed my hips and turned me around. "What's wrong? What's happening?" I listened to the waves crashing on the rock to the left of me.
I looked up at the sky. "I love you, Nick."
"I love you too, gorgeous."
I pulled the pregnancy test out of my skirt pocket, handing it to him and covering my face. I wiped a tear out from under my eye and looked back at him, he was staring at the stick.
"You're pregnant?" He looked up at me.
I nodded.
"Oh my god you're pregnant." He wrapped his arms around me. "I love you so much."
"You aren't mad?"
"God no." He pulled back and looked at me, grabbing my hands. "We're going to have a family." He laughed and picked me up by my hips. "I'm going to be a dad."
I put my hands on the back of his neck, laughing and kissing him. "I love you." I said when I pulled back for air. "I love you."
"I love you too." Our tears were mixed together, we were so close we were basically one person. He let out a breath. "You're pregnant." He ran his hand over my clothed stomach, beaming so bright he could've lit up a whole city.
Sophie enveloped me in her arms. "Are you going to keep it?"
I nodded and looked at Nick over her shoulder. "I want to."
"I do too but it's up to you, baby." Nick squeezed my hand.
"I'm gonna be a grandma." Sophie pulled back from the hug and kissed my cheek. "I already feel old."
"How you know I was pregnant?" I asked.
She shrugged. "I kinda just put together the morning sickness and bloating."
I looked at Nick and laughed. "Oops." He stifled a laugh.
"-And no alcohol." Sophie finished her mental list.
I turned to look at her. "No alcohol?"
Nick squeezed my hips. "Maybe that's a good thing."
"How?" I scrunched up my nose and ran a hand over my stomach.
"You were getting drunk like three times in one week." He rubbed my back as I leaned on his chest. "That's not very healthy." I whined a little but knew he was right. "I won't drink either, how about that?"
"No it's okay, I can manage." I stood on my tippy toes and planted a kiss onto his chin.
I woke up at nine the next day and saw Nick already up and getting dressed. "Good morning, gorgeous." He smiled and came over to me, kissing my lips and then my bare stomach. I stretched my legs and arms out before sitting up and walking to the bathroom, throwing up quickly before flushing the toilet and leaning against Nick.
"Where are we going?" I asked as we got down onto the dock. I took off my shoes and clothes like Nick did, leaving me in a light green bikini.
"You'll see." He said before jumping into the water.
I dove in after him, swimming to the sailboat as he climbed up the ladder. The boat had been decorated, there were little fairy lights along the edge of the deck and running across the boom. "Pretty." I smiled and watched the boat light up when Nick turned them on. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him, feeling his hands on my sides and his thumbs running over my stomach.
"Karl!" I pulled back and saw Delilah on the dock with Sarah, their fingers intertwined.
"Hi." I yelled. "When did you guys get here? Why are you here?"
They both grinned and pointed to something in front of me. I looked forward and down, gasping. Nick was down on one knee, smiling and looking up at me. "I've loved you since the day I met you and I know this is kind of fast and crazy but... Would you marry me Karl Jacobs?"
I covered a hand over my mouth and looking at the small light green box he was holding out. "Say yes you fucking idiot!" Delilah yelled as Nick took the diamond ring out of the box.
"Yes, yes, yes." The salt water on my face was being mixed with my tears as he took my hand and slid the ring onto my finger. "I love you." I said weakly as he stood up, putting his hands on my sides and dipping me back before connecting our lips. There were cheers from the dock and I knew not only Delilah and Sarah were there anymore. I pulled back and saw Sophie and Sky, Delilah and Sarah, and a bunch of random people who I guessed were Nick's family. I kissed Nick again, he picked me up and broke away from the kiss. "What are you doing?" I laughed as he stood on the edge of the boat, my feet on top of his.
"Hold your breath, baby." He grinned and jumped off, bringing me down into the water with him.
