"You got it?" Nick asked as I stepped up on the ladder, one hand in his and the other holding a paint brush and using the wall for balance.

I nodded and started painting the wall, he ran the paint roller over my marks. Six hours later and everything was done, I took a picture of it, Nick was in the middle of the room, closing the paint bucket. I set my phone to side and helped him take the paper off the wood floor, it was beautiful without the carpet covering it.

I "helped" Nick put together a rocking chair. It was two days after we'd painted the room and I was holding Myla, I guess Sophie taught her how to hold her head up because she did it with no problem. "You like your room?" She put her hand against my chest, looking at me wide eyed.

She drooled and I wiped it off with the skirt of her dress. "Hey Kar?" Nick asked from the corner of the room.

"Yeah, babe?"

"Can you hand me that screwdriver?" He pointed to something. It took me awhile to figure it out but I eventually got it. "Thank you." He kissed my hip before going back to working on the chair.

There was a knock on the door and I carried Myla downstairs. "Are you Nick Jacobs?" A guy with three large boxes in front of him asked.

"Yeah, thank you so much." I smiled and watched him leave. "Nick." I called. "What did you buy?" He came downstairs as I stood on the porch, looking at the boxes. He gave me a shit-eating grin and pulled the boxes inside. It turns out he ordered a couch, baby gates, and a new dining table. "You're so stupid." I said when he threw the blue couch cushion on the floor and laid on it.

He laughed and reached out toward me, grabbing my hips and pulling me closer to him. I laid down next to him, Myla on my chest as I curled into his side. "Do you like it?" He asked.

"It's really nice." I hummed, looking at him and kissing his chin. "Why did he say your name was Nick Jacobs?"

A smirk spread across his face. "Why not?"

"Such a weirdo."

We got rid of the torn leather chair and replaced it with the L-shaped blue couch. A rug was purchased, along with a wooden coffee table and a TV, as well as a chandelier in the dining room and six new chairs including a high chair. Nick finally let up and I bought a bunch of plants, they were all over, two on the coffee table, three on the dining table, two hanging beside our blue front door outside, a bunch in our bedroom, and a bunch of little succulents in Myla's room.

I drew up an idea for the kitchen and three people were hired, it was done two months later, a large kitchen, two islands, two sinks, many, many, many cabinets, three stools, a big fridge, and lots of counter space. "That's not for you." Nick said, pulling the end of the seatbelt out of Myla's mouth.

She was four months old now and liked to put things in her mouth, it was very irritating. She put her thumb in her mouth and sucked on it, kicking her feet happily. I pulled her out of the car seat and held her against my hip. I let Nick pull me into his side, resting my head on the side of his chest as we walked up the stairs toward the church. "Remember when we got married?" I asked as he put his hand on my hip, almost my butt. He was an ass guy, I'd learned that after letting him touch my butt once.

"How could I forget?" He kissed the top of my head.

I hugged Delilah when I saw her. "You look beautiful. I can't believe you're getting married." I said, looking at her white dress. "God I sound like a mom."

"You are a mom you dumbass bitch." She said, laughing and letting Myla squeeze her finger. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Nick took Myla from me and smiled, kissing my lips before opening the curtain. "Good luck!" He said to Delilah, winking.

She flipped him off. "I hate that guy."

I laughed, Delilah and Nick had became best friends very quickly, it was nice having them get along. Okay well not get along but talk, I guess.

Sarah walked herself down the aisle, everyone clapped and I grinned at her. Her parents did not approve but she didn't give two shits.

"Can we just kiss already?" Delilah groaned as the priest kept talking and talking.

I hit her back lightly, rolling my eyes and laughing quietly like everyone else. "You may now kiss the bride." The priest said after a couple more sentences, unbothered by Delilah's inpatients.

They kissed and everyone cheered, Delilah picked Sarah up, lips still connected, and carried her out the door I laughed and pulled my phone out of my pocket, taking a picture at the right moment as Delilah used Sarah's feet to push open the door. I jumped off the stage like all the other bridesmaids and hugged Nick, laughing and pecking his lips. He kissed back and we all went outside, Sarah and Delilah were already on the dock at the bottom of the stairs and Delilah put Sarah down before they both jumped into the clear water together. Everyone laughed as they came back up and rushed down to get on the dock and jump in too, stripping off dresses and suits before jumping in. I took off my suit and Nick stared at me like I was crazy I unbuttoned his suit and laughed, taking Myla from him and removing her dress before walking in the shallow end of the water and going deeper, Myla still in my arms. Nick jumped in next to me and I splashed him when he came back up.

Joy.
Pure joy.
