The sun began to gently set over the countryside of the small Welsh cottage when Eli decided to take his leave. He stared into the pink and yellow sky as the sun covered the landscapes afar.
Something he often told his love was that she reminded him of the sun. Bright, warm, and pleasant. Eli told himself long ago that losing her was an unbearable option. This love costed not only his vision but his sight into the future beyond. However after his vision the night prior he felt as if his life was about to change. The letter he received from what was claimed to be Oletus Manor stated that if he were to visit he'd have a chance at restoring his oath along with other generous prizes.
He didn't want to leave Gertrude, not for anything, but he began to become suspicious of the truths behind the invitation after his most recent vision .
Unlike the sun, the moon was gloomy, small, and unpredictable. However Eli always found himself enjoying the night rather than the day, for the moon still shone brightly.
In his vision, he saw it was only him in the pale moonlight. In the distance he heard the sound of a soft piano melody being played. Eli began to walk closer to the source of the melody, finding a grand white piano being played by a man he'd never seen.
He looked to be about his age, hair tied back in a small ribbon, hands gliding across the keys as if no one was watching him. Then the music abruptly stopped. The man turned his head to face Eli and the two were silent. Whatever the man said, Eli was not able to hear. So he began to walk closer. The man stood up from his stool and walked to face Eli as well, reaching his hand out to him.
So Eli took his hand.
"You need to let her go", was all that slipped from the mans lips.
So here he was now, taking himself and his trusted partner Brooke Rose, the owl he nurtured back to health as a child, to leave and investigate the sudden spark in his visions. Of course Gertrude was worried sick that the force her fiancé spoke of was trying to work against them. Eli told her there was nothing to be afraid of.
"When do you think you'll return?" she questioned, gently stroking Brookes feathers before the owl flew back to her owners shoulder.
"I can't say anything for certain" he responded. "Just know that no matter what happens, it's what fate wants".
Gertrude only nodded. She reached forward to him and gave him one final hug.
"And if you don't return?" she whispered.
Eli sighed, gently hugging her back.
"Then time will move on. As long as you stay safe then I will be fine."
And with that she let go. The two left it at that. Fate was fate. She trusted in him enough that he'd made the right decision. He saved her family after all. And she'd still have them.
And so Eli left, slowly disappearing along the countryside as he continued to walk forward to what laid ahead of him.
One thing was clear, something that continued to repeat within his mind.
"You'll receive an invitation. Whatever it is, promise him."
