Aesop was recovering. Granted, it had only been two days. According to Emily it's one of the longest times anyone had to stay in the clinic. Emily had also told Eli it was quite the rarity for someone to be bled out. However it didn't change the fact Aesop wasn't quite ready to leave the clinic just yet.

Which left Eli and Emily in charge of making dinner.

"I was thankful enough to get Norton's help preparing everyone else's food" Emily informed Eli as he walked into the kitchen, wanting to get a head start.

Eli smiled as he took to Emily's side.

"To give us more time to make Aesop's meal I presume?"

Emily nodded as she began to take out the needed dishes to prepare.

"I wanted to make him something nicer since he's been in the clinic for so long" she informed, now pulling a small book from one of the kitchen shelf's and running her hand along the pages "something comforting but nice nonetheless".

Just as she found the recipe she wanted her eyes widened, looking at the ingredients she had already laid out.

"Mr. Campbell used all of the chicken" she sighed.

She watched as Eli had already begun putting away what she had gotten out. Of course, he expected this.

"Before you tell me you foresaw this may you please help me figure out what we'll be making now?" Emily pleaded.

Eli plopped all the new ingredients onto the counter, before looking back at the Doctor.

"Carrot soup, Ms. Dyer".

"It may be for the best we didn't land on the chicken soup" Emily mumbled to herself, taking the roasted carrots from the oven.

Eli let out a small laugh, nodding in agreement with Emily.

"Believe it or not things happen for a reason Ms. Dyer", Eli responded, now helping her cut up the carrots.

"Believe it or not I can see multiple outcomes and I don't think Carl would've enjoyed such a standard recipe, considering his position".

Emily's eyes gave a puzzled look, words not needed to convey what she felt.

"Ah, by that I mean he wouldn't have been happy with a meal most often associated with being sick. Something that basic".

Emily's eyes relaxed, seeming to understand what the Seer had meant.

However she would never know that the man had lied to her.

His visions tended to only have one path. Although he couldn't share what he saw, no matter how minuscule with anyone else, he himself was able to change outcomes. It was he who gave Norton Campbell the idea of preparing a chicken stew for the others, as he had told Campbell "it will give you the chance to share a little bit of home with the others".

And he had intended to do the same for Aesop Carl.

As a young boy Eli grew up on a small farm with his mother and father. Although it wasn't much what they had, it was simple and comforting, all he ever felt he needed in life. An old recipe he was taught as a young boy, usually preparing dishes while his busy mother and father worked to provide.

A meal he had mastered, a meal that made even the worse days feel slightly better. It had been quite awhile since he had gotten to prepare it. Ever since he had moved in with his fiancé, she was quite stubborn on preparing dishes.

"A man should work and provide, a woman should be the one to cook and clean" Gertrude had told him. Even when offering to help alongside her, let alone share a recipe, she stayed grounded in her beliefs.
