Chapter recap:
"Have you thought of any places that you'll be staying?" Jack asked as I turned my car's engine on.
"Nope. But hey, I'm Airell Carter. I always have the best options in life," I said as I put on my sunglasses, "Bye, Jacky. Thanks for everything. See you!" Then I drove out of our house.
As I finally left everything behind me, I felt a sense of freedom. Freedom from drama. Freedom from everything that is holding me back.
So right now, no matter where this road takes me, I just don't care.

I'm starting to worry about this shit.
It's getting dark and I haven't found any place to stay. I've been driving for miles and and I still haven't decided where I'll stay. Well, at least I got to clear up my head and feel calmer. Now the real problem is there isn't any hotels in this part of the city.
The buildings here looked a bit older and larger, some are even destroyed or rusted, and some even look the same! I guess this is indicating that I'm in the "lower part" of the city. I call this place the Lower Part of the city because I don't know what this place is called. This is where the stocks of those companies are kept and where the lower class lived and I admit I haven't been here before. I mean, who the heck does except for those vans or trucks that carry loads of supplies?
Okay, this is stupid. I drove a little bit further until I reached a spot away from the buildings and where there are trees and a bit of nature. It's kind of creepy but hey, it's a lot better than being near those buildings. It scares the hell out of me!
I stopped then turned off the engine and went out from my car then started to dial Jack on my phone. I may seem chicken but I don't care! I have to swallow my pride if I wanted to get away from this place.
Damn, I feel so dumb with directions! I shouldn't have left home. Or perhaps even stopped at hotels in the city. Oh, the f*cking beauty of regrets. Insert sarcasm here.
As I checked my phone, I realized my battery is dead. Now, I am so dead. I suddenly heard some twigs cracking and multiple footsteps.
Jesus, help me.
"Hey there, sweetheart," I heard someone say.
Don't turn around, Airell. Don't turn around.
"What's wrong, babe? Are you deaf? Or simply mute?" another voice said then other voices laughed.
I closed my eyes and silently cursed. Shit! How many are these guys?!
Just then as I opened my eyes, a huge bald guy with a big scar on his left cheek was right in front of me. The way he looks completely screams 'I'm dangerous'. The grin on his mouth and lustful look immediately mademe want to get the hell away from here but if I turned and get on my car, I would be caught. I turned and looked at the men around me. There were six of them, and all of them almost looked identical to the bald guy with the lustful and dangerous look.
As I looked down on what I was wearing, I realized I was wearing my short shorts, tank top, my car shaped silver necklace which Dad gave me, and some bit of jewelries. So not the perfect clothes for this kind of place.
"She looks rich, Gary," a small guy with a mustache commented while looking at me.
"What are you doing on this side of the city, sweetheart? You lost, huh?" the bald guy asked whom I realized was Gary.
I just kept my mouth shut and silently calculated how fast I can turn to my car and turn the engine on.
Just in time as Gary the bald dude moved a bit closer, I made a move to run, but he grabbed my hand harshly.
"Not so fast, sweetheart," Gary laughed.
"Damn it! F*ck off! Let go of me!" I shouted out of pain, but he just laughed.
For the first time, I felt afraid. I silently prayed that anyone pass by this place. That a car might pass or an angel or a miracle!
I tried to pull my hand and kick but the guy just dodged.
"You gotta try better than that, babe, but if I were you, I won't make this any harder," he then licked his lips then smiled, showing of his yellow-ish teeth.
This is so gross! I looked away only to see the other guys checking out my car and opening my bags.
"Get your filthy hands off my stuff! That is so not yours!" I shouted.
"Oooh, fiesty. I like your type, babe. Why don't we have fun while they check your stuffs?" he then started to move his face closer to mine and I was very close to gagging.
Sucking in a deep breath, I kicked his private parts then ran literally for my life.
Save me, please!
**After running for like half a kilometer, I stopped to take a breath. Thank God, I wore my converse. If given a chance, I would totally donate millions to wherever my shoes were made.
Just then I heard the voices of the guys earlier getting nearer so I half ran-half walked until I reached a street that is so not in a good shape. The houses were clearly unkept and its obvious that this is the "depressed area" of the city. If it were any other day, I wouldn't ever have come here. Clearly, this place is not safe.
I was about to turn back when I saw the guys awhile ago looking at different directions until one of them saw me.
Having no choice, I ran inside the nearest house I could find.
As I entered the house, I was the opposite of what I expected. The house was cozy and it gives the home vibes. Better than my house actually. The couches and furnitures were not as good as those in mine but it looks fine.
Hearing the voices of the goons outside the house, I instantly bent down and hid behind the couch.
"Who are you?" I heard a girl say.
I turned and saw a very cute 5 year old girl in her pigtails looking at me questioningly. She looks familiar, or rather, she looked like someone I know.
She seems to be having a mini tea party with her dolls behind the couch because there are pink teacups and a table of cupcakes.
"Sophia, who are you talking to?" guy's voice asked from behind a wall at the corner.
"There's a pretty girl at the living room, Ashy!" the little girl I assumed was Sophia answered excitedly.
The voice just laughed then I heard a chair move, "What pretty girl are you talking about, Soph?"
"She's really here!" Sophia argued, then moved towards me and poked my cheek, "And she's so soft!"
I giggled at what she said. Soft. Really? Kids.
"Is that another one of your imaginations or should I be worried?" the voice asked again.
I put my index finger above my lips to give her a clue to be quiet, and she followed what I did.
Cute!
"Who the hell are you?!" I heard the voice ask and as I looked up, I saw a guy with auburn hair, just like Sophia's, and a face that looks like it has been carved by God himself.
Strong jaws, full kissable lips, sophisticated cheekbones, perfect long eyelashes, and the most mysterious gray eyes I have ever seen.
After I realized that I have been staring at him, I blinked twice then tried to explain my side, "I'm so sorry, I have no choice. I didn't mean to trespass. There are these goons outside trying to harm me and--"
I stopped midsentence as I caught sight of an eagle tattoo on his left shoulder as he crossed his arms.
"Wait, you?!" we both exclaimed as I saw recognition flash his eyes just in time as I realized who he was.
Goodness, save me from more trouble, please.

Sorry, it took long guys. Final exams are here and I really need to focus. Thank you so much for understanding!
