Skylars POV
I sit on the bench as my team in the last quarter of the game, I watch intently as the other team is crushing my team
I look towards my coach and get up
"Coach when can I go in, you said I'd shine in the 4th quarter" I say frustratedly
"You'll get in soon, I'm thinking of a plan to get you to succeed" My coach says as he watches the plays go on
"Trust me.....if the ball is in my hands then I will succeed" I say confidently causing him to turn around
"You got that fiery look in your eyes.....fine I'll let you in but don't let me down" Coach says patting my shoulder
I smirk and get my helmet as he yells for Samson....my worst enemy to get out the game
"Coach what the hell I'm playing good" Samson says taking his helmet off
"Not good enough now sit on the side, Baker is coming in for you" Coach says seriously
Samson looks at me and glares as he walks towards me
"Your gonna lose us the game dyke" Samson says bumping me
"We'll see" I say putting my helmet on and running out, not before coach gives me a slap on the back
"Get em girl" he says proudly
I run up to the huddle and the team looks at me and half of them scoff and shake their heads
"Coach really let the dyke on, wow" Mike says laughing
"Not the time Mike, we have a game to win" I say rolling my eyes
"Sky is right, we're losing by two touchdowns and we need to focus" the Quarterback Donavon says
Donavon calls the play and we break before heading into position
Donavon yells out the play and hikes the ball, I run my route and juke out the defender before looking back as donavon throws the ball
I catch it with ease and run toward the end zone but get taken down at the 20
I smile as Coach and the bench cheer and the crowd gets hype but I don't celebrate too much since there's time still left on the board
We run the play again and score with the help of one of our experienced players, now the other team has the hall and I start plotting
Theirs only a minute left and were down one touchdown and we need a stop but I have other plans, I get into position and the team hikes the ball
I read the route of the guy in front of me as he tried to juke me out but I don't fall for it and catch the ball for an interception
The crowd cheers as I run the other way but get taken down at the 30
We head into a huddle and start talking about what to do next
"Greta job Sky, now we need a way to score and quickly, we only have 30 seconds left" Donavan says
"Let Tyler run it" a guy says as Tyler looks at him confused
"What! I don't wanna run it, let the dyke do it" Tyler says causing me to roll my eyes
"I can't, they'll be expecting it and plus they will not expect you and your fast, they won't see it coming" I say causing Tyler to think it over
"Fine I'll do it but next time the dyke does it" he says causing Donavon and I to roll our eyes at the same time
We break and get into position, Donavon hikes and I run my route but I fake getting the ball and Donavon throws it to Tyler
As if in slow motion as the time runs out, the ball travels through the air and lands perfectly in Tyler's hands as he's tackled and he holds on to it as the buzzer goes off
We all cheer and dawn Tyler as smiles and cheers too, we all celebrate for a bit till it's time to shake hands
We finish shaking hands and head to the locker rooms excited, we all get to our lockers as coach comes in smiling
"Alright alright enough.....I'm very proud of you all, not only did you guys work together but we came out with a victory and for that-" Coach says but is cut off by the assistant coach coming in and telling the coach something
"Ummm Skylar, your mother is in the hospital.......you need to get there quickly" Coach says in a sad tone
My heart drops to my ass and I take off, not caring that I'm in my football uniform, I get outside and to my car and drive off to the hospital
I get there in record time go straight to the front desk
"Hi umm I'm here for Lilian Scott, she's my mother and she just came to the hospital" I say in a rushed and anxious tone
"Ok sweetheart calm down, your mother is in surgery, your going to have to wait in the waiting room" the lady says causing me to rub my head
I go and hit down in the waiting room and anxiously wait, my leg shakes as I stare at the floor, I've been here for an hour now and I've still heard nothing
Every time a doctor comes out I stand up just to find out it's for someone else, just as I'm about to find the operation room I see Coach and Donavon come in the door
"Hey what are yo guys doing here" I say as they come over to me
"We didn't want you to be alone" Coach says as he past my shoulder
"Yea you shouldn't be alone and we came to support you" Donavon says smiling at me
I nod and silently thank them and turn back towards the doors, suddenly I see a doctor walking out the room and towards me
"Family of Lilian Scott" the doctor says
"Yes I'm right here I'm her daughter, how's my mom" I say coming up to him
"I don't know how to tell you this........your mother has passed away, she died while we were operating in so sorry we did everything we could to save her" The doctor says apologetically
In that moment my heart and everything froze and I fall to my knees in shock, I can hear or acknowledge anything in this moment
My biggest supporter and only really parent is gone.....my mother is gone
A/n ayyyyeee back at it again expanding my work load knowing damn well I should stop getting ideas but either way I don't own any of the All American characters, I only own the characters that I have made up so far (Skyler, Coach, Donavon, Samson, Lilian and Tyler)
