Skylar's POV
I head downstairs as I see people already here for Spencer's birthday, I come down and sit on the couch as people come in and out, I watch the tv but I don't pay attention
I keep thinking about what my father said and its sticking with me, Coach is the only dad I've ever known and he took care of my mom while she was struggling and took me in when my mom died and even helped pick out her casket and the place she's being buried, his actions so far haven't reflected his words upstairs
My thoughts were interrupted by the door closing, I look over to see Spences mon and his brother along with who I assume is his friend
"Hey Laura, I brought some food where do I put it" Grace says as she motions to the food table
"Oh hi Grace, you can put it next to the fruit, Skylar come introduce yourself" Laura says causing me to smile and get up
"Hi Aunty" I say hugging her
"Oh my gosh you've gotten so big" Grace says causing me to smile
"Wait yall know each other" The boy says
"Yea, I was best friend with her mother in high school but we drifted apart after, how is your mother Sky" Grace says causing me to cringe a bit
"Ummm she died recently, I'm staying with my uncle now" I say slowly as they all look at me sympathetically
Grace doesn't say anything and gives me a hug and I accept it, we talk for a few minutes till she goes over to Laura and starts talking to her,
"What's your name" I say towards the younger boy
"I'm Dillion" He says smiling
"And what's yours" I say towards the girl whos looking at me strangely
"Coop" She says dryly as she looks me up and down, I do the same to her
Dillion leaves and I'm eft with Coop who hasn't stopped looking at me like I did something to her
"Why you lookin at me like that" I say as I feel my demeanor change
"You date a girl named Patience" Coop says causing me to nod and smile
"Yea and what about it" I say a bit confused as to why she knows that
"That's my girl now, she said you were ex and her first love" Coop says causing me o shake my head
"Wow... ok well that's all you" I say sarcastically as I head to another room
This party finna be weird

It's later in the party and I'm sitting on the couch sippin my fruit punch as everyone's having fun and doin there thing, I look around and see the football team here along with my siblings
I start typing on my phone when suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder, I go to knock they ass out but I see Spencer putting his hands up
"Woah my bad man, why you so antsy" He says as i sigh and put my hand down
"Just feel out of place that's all" I say
"Well you apart of the team now right, come one let me introduce you to the guys" Spencer says leading me to the team
I walk outside with him to see the two guy I met along with the rest of them
"Yo guys, This is our new teammate Skylar, she's Jordan's cousin" Spencer says
"Hey guys, looks like we finna be playin together" I say calmly, trying to open up a conversation
The other guys snicker and laugh at me as they look me up and down, Spencer looks at them then to me, my smile drops and I just shake my head and head back into the house and go to head upstairs but I see my siblings head into my fathers office
I stand back as they start to talk and I listen in
"So are we gonna talk about that Coach guy" Jordan says
"No ok listen, Dad is not Skylar's father, she does look like dad but that's probably because of a family resemblance not because of her being his child, plus Coach already said that she's his daughter" Oliva says with a sigh
"I don't buy it, something is up with that guy and I don't think he's being honesty, he doesn't even know where she was born" Jordan says frustrated
"Ok well he's probably wondering why his niece and nephew popped up on his doorstep randomly after not knowing who he is, just give it up Jordan" Oliva says as she walks out
I quickly hide before she sees me and wait for Jordan to leave, he leaves and I try to process the information and I'm trying to debate if I should even tell my Dad that his kids are on to him, I mean he's the on that cheated but it would be better if Laura found out from him, not her kids
I sigh and sit on the steps and decide that for now, I'm keeping my mouth shut, suddenly I hear the door bell ring and I see my father get up and go, I sit on the steps and get back on my phone until I hear a voice
"Hello...Brother" I hear
I get up and go to my father whos frozen in place and se Coach standing at the door, smiling as he looks t both of us
"Can I come in" He says
"What are you doing here" My father say as Coach walks in
"My niece and nephew invited me" Coach says causing my smile to drop
So much for wanting to tell him
Coach comes over and hugs me and I hug him back tightly as my father goes over to where my siblings are
"How have you been" Coach says as he smiles and pats my back
"I've been.... terrible, but when we're you going to tell me your related to my father" I say looking at him
"I was going to but you never seemed ready to hear it" Coach says causing me to scoff at him
"All those conversations about my father being a deadbeat, even in the car when you took me here or to your house...you could have told me then" I say backing away from him but he soon grabs my wrist a little aggressive
"Listen ok, I lied but it was only to keep you on track with football and I didn't want you thinking I was giving you special treatment which I never have" he says in a stern tone
"Well thanks for knowing what is best for me...uncle Thomas" I say sadly as I yank my wrist away from him and go upstairs as he goes to grab me again
This party isn't it for me
A/n welll then I dropped some bombs in this one, I'm sorry for not updating, I have been going through a lot of things and I didn't wanna confuse this story with Under Bright Lights so I'm sorry
