Skylar's POV
I groan in frustration as Shawn doesn't answer his phone, he said he'll handle it but I don't know how and I feel weird about this, I huff in frustration and toss my phone across the room
"Sky chill.....you know Shawn is stubborn especially since he's caught in some shit" Patience says and I just let of a breath
"My god daughter is at risk, my community ain't even good right now like I'm worried about one of my best friends and my god daughter being in the streets and even if I were to relocate them with my allowance......Tyrone is connected to too many people" I say defeatedly, I hear Patience get up walk over to me
"Its gon be alright, you know Shawn has a back up plan if things go left....you get your god daughter and make her life better" She says as she puts her hand on my back comfortingly but I move and turn to face her
"And what about you huh" I say, Patience look at me weirdly and some what put off
"What" She says confused
"What about you Patience.....you wrapped up with Coop who's wrapped up with Shawn who's wrapped up with Tyrone, you know that if they can't hurt Shawn they gon hurt Coop and if they get Shawn then Coop is next and she can't handle herself like us......I don't need you in this" I say with a scoff and Patience shakes her head
"And I don't need you playing knight in shining armor" She says and now it's my turn to be confused
"What" I say
"Come on Skylar, did you forget I know you like the back of my fucking hand......you wanna save me because of two reason and we discussed the first one but the second one you need to come out and say" Patience says and I stare at her for a second before turning my head away
"I don't know what you talking about" I say in a low voice and I hear her scoff at that
"You like me again Skylar.....you have feelings again I can see it when you look at me" Patience says irritatedly
"Yes.....I do but I'm respecting what you got with Coop....look I gotta go, you still comin to the game" I say as I get my stuff and my phone
"Yes....Skylar we have to talk about this at some point" She says as I am halfway out the door, i sight and look at her with a sad expression
"I know......because don't forget that I can read you too..remember that" I say before leaving her dumbfounded
Time skip
I get back home as I'm happy to get back to Shawn, I let out a sigh of relief and head up to my room and gather up my stuff before texting Shawn
Me: I love you Shawn, kiss my baby for me💕
I walk downstairs with a smile on my face till suddenly I get a call from Shawn and I instantly answer it
"Hey man, how it feel to be free" I say cheerfully, I hear a deep sigh over thr phone and I instantly get a bad feeling
"Sky...baby........it's Miss Ruth, Shawn's been shot" She says and I feel every bit of me crumble, I don't take in that I dropped my phone and I hear Laura's worried voice trying to get my attention and I instantly rush to Crenshaw
Time skip
I sit in Spencer's house with tears running down my face as Coop talks about Shawn's finally moments, I stare blankly at the wall as she does
"And....he choked out that he...he loves you Skylar and to take care of his babygirl" Coop says as she starts to break down, I look over to her and I can't hold it anymore
I burst into tears and collapse on the floor, I feel arms wrapping around me and I hear Grace saying it's gonna be ok as she tries to calm me down
"He wanted to get right man.....I can't keep losing people" I yell at the end as I cry harder, Patience comes over to my side and runs her fingers through my hair and I look around the room
I see Spencer and Coop looking at me but a knock on the door causes me to break away from them, Grace opens it and I see Shawn's right hand man at the door, i see Maya in his arms asleep and her car seat and all her stuff which wasn't a lot, I instantly stand up
"Hello" Grace says
"Hey....Umm is Skylar here" Tay says as he look in the house, Grace quickly lets him in and he spots me and walks over to me
"Miss Ruth.....said she needs you to take her now.....she's gotta work some things out" Tay says and I nod and he gives me Maya who's sleep, I hold her close to me as I run my fingers through her hair
"Tell Mama Ruth that I'll help with the funeral costs.......she don't gotta do it by herself and tell her I'm not asking" I say and Tay nods and hugs me before leaving and wishing everyone goodbye
"Skylar......are you sure you wanna do this.....your very young and she is grieving too now" Grace says and I look at her and nod
"I have too....as bad as it is I mentally prepared for this day....just wished it never happened, she needs me...I'm her only motherly figure outside of his mom, if I need help ill come to you mama" I say and Grace nods and kisses my cheek and Mayas
"I'll take her home, I gotta talk to....Uncle Billy about this" I say looking at Spencer, he's the third person to know about who my father is and I'll be dammed if I tell Coop anything
"You sure you wanna drive like this Sky" Patience says worriedly
"Yea" I say before kissing her forehead and mama Grace's and leaving with Maya, I put her car seat in and secure it before putting her in and securely buckling her in as well
I quiet think the car and peel off down the road quickly along my way out of Crenshaw and to Beverly Hills, I look in the back to see Maya still asleep and I look back to the road
This game ain't just for mama...it's for Shawn too
A/n ok like watching that scene again has me so upset like bro why he have to die before he got out man..fuck but it's gon be ok and Maya gon be ok
